(kontumtv.vn) – Setting a target to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by June 2025, localities in Ngoc Hoi district are currently mobilizing all resources to accelerate the repair and construction of new houses for policy beneficiary households, poor households , near-poor households, and households with difficult housing circumstances, striving to achieve the goal at least one month ahead of schedule.
After nearly two weeks of construction, the house of Mrs. Y Lo's family in Hamlet 7, PleiKan town, has been renovated and put into use, meeting the "three solid" standards and ensuring safety. The completion of the house is a great joy for the family. Mrs. Y Lo emotionally said: "I am old, very poor, without a husband or children, I am very grateful for the government's care and support in repairing my house."
Ms. Y Lo is one of seven disadvantaged households in Plei Kan town that will receive financial support for house repairs and reconstruction in 2025. To eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, the entire political system of Plei Kan town has mobilized and utilized over 240 million VND to support disadvantaged households in replacing their homes with new ones. Not only have resources been effectively mobilized, but the construction and repair of houses for these households have also been completed ahead of schedule. Ms. Nguyen Thuy Le Huyen, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Plei Kan town, added: “ During the implementation process, the Party Committee, the Fatherland Front, and political organizations have all joined hands to successfully repair houses for poor and near-poor households. To date, we have repaired 6 houses and built 1 new house, achieving over 60% of the construction progress. We expect to complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the town by early April.”
After nearly two months of construction, a solidarity house with a usable area of over 100 square meters and a total cost of approximately 400 million VND was handed over to the family of Ms. Y Hong Bach in Nong Nhay II village, Dak Nong commune. Of this amount, BenJii Group Joint Stock Company - the Organizing Committee of the "Dream Slope - Brotherhood Solidarity" Program - sponsored 100 million VND through the "For the Poor" Fund of Kon Tum province, with the remaining amount contributed by the family. The new, spacious house demonstrates the care and gratitude of society towards policy beneficiary families and those who have rendered meritorious services.
To achieve the goal of eliminating temporary housing, Dak Nong commune has focused on mobilizing the active participation of all sectors of the population to jointly demolish temporary and dilapidated houses. Despite facing many difficulties due to a shortage of building materials and construction labor, with various solutions and the active involvement of the entire political system, Dak Nong commune has now completed the demolition of 3 temporary houses. Currently, the locality is continuing to accelerate the demolition of the remaining 5 temporary houses to hand them over to the households for use in May 2025. Mr. Truong Quang Trung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Nong commune, emphasized: " With the general spirit and policies of the Party, the Government , and the Party committees, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations of Dak Nong commune, we are determined to complete the project. We will strive to mobilize all resources, households, and all social strata, including youth union members and villagers, to help eliminate temporary housing in accordance with the Government's directive to complete the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by May."
To date, Ngoc Hoi district has eliminated more than 60 temporary and dilapidated houses, achieving approximately 40% of the 2025 plan. Each newly completed house means one more poor or disadvantaged household has stable housing. Therefore, the local authorities are focusing on directing and accelerating the implementation progress with the goal of completing the temporary housing elimination program before May 19th. This is not only a project to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday but also demonstrates the concern and care of the Party committees, authorities at all levels, and the entire society, helping poor households stabilize their housing, feel secure in their work and production, and rise out of poverty.
