The 1954 Rally Memorial National Monument, Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province attracts a large number of people and tourists to experience the cuisine and admire the poetic Tien River.

The 1954 rally memorial area in Cao Lanh, Dong Thap province, along with a total embankment length of 2.2km, part of the Ho Cu embankment project extending to the foot of Cao Lanh bridge, with a central investment of 250 billion VND in 2023, aims to protect 480 households and the national monument.

The project will be completed and put into use in early 2025. Along with traditional local learning andeducational activities, the monument area is also a place to attract people and tourists to experience cuisine and watch the sunset on the poetic Tien River.

On the afternoon of May 26, Tuoi Tre Online recorded that at the 1954 Rally Memorial Monument area, many young people and tourists came to visit, eat and drink, and watch the Tien River. In addition, people also had space to play sports .

The stalls mainly sell dishes that are popular with young people such as mixed rice paper, grilled rice paper, various types of tea, steamed cakes, Korean baked cakes...

Ngo Tuong Vy, a student at Dong Thap University, shared that in the afternoon she often goes with her friends to the embankment to exercise, breathe fresh air, occasionally eat mixed rice paper and drink tea.

"This place is quite close to our school and boarding house, so it's very convenient to walk. Sitting by the river, watching the sunset and the cool breeze after a day of studying is really interesting," Vy said.

Ms. Ho Hue Thu Hang, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Cao Lanh City, said that currently, the 1954 Rally Memorial Monument has expanded its service business activities, connecting with the Tan Thuan Dong rural market tourist attraction.

"Currently, there are 12 stalls serving customers, operating from 2-10pm every day. Exploiting and promoting the values ​​of facilities, environmental landscapes, meeting well the needs of services, food, entertainment and shopping to attract visitors and tourists.

Besides, it is necessary to ensure the principle of not affecting the original elements, landscape, environmental sanitation, security and order, etc. at the relic," said Ms. Hang.

The Ho Cu embankment project, extending to the foot of Cao Lanh bridge, 2.2km long, aims to proactively prevent riverbank erosion, ensure the safety of more than 480 households and essential infrastructure in the area, protect the infrastructure of the cross-river passenger wharf in this area to better serve the travel and trade needs of people on both sides of the river, and especially protect the national monument of the 1954 rally memorial.

The total investment is nearly 278 billion VND, of which central capital is 250 billion VND, completed in November 2024, handed over to Cao Lanh City People's Committee for use and management from the beginning of 2025.
