Mr. Phong, the owner of a peach garden on Lenin Avenue, said: I imported over 300 peach trees from the North, however, the purchasing power of people this year is very low, currently only about 1/3 have been sold and rented out, the remaining quantity in the garden is a lot and there are only 4 days left until New Year's Eve, I don't know if I can sell them all. This year is definitely a loss.

When going to see peach blossoms for Tet, people tend to choose trees and branches with many buds and shoots, especially with few blooming flowers so that they can be displayed for a long time. However, in reality, the number of this type of peach blossoms on the market is very small, most of the peach blossoms have bloomed to 50-60% of their buds, and some have even fully bloomed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, a peach trader in the central park of Vinh City, said: Customers who come to ask about peach trees are looking to buy trees with many buds but few blooms. However, this item is very rare this year because it is a leap year, so most of them have already bloomed a lot, there is no way to stop them. Many trees have beautiful shapes, however, because they have already bloomed, customers only ask but do not pay to buy. Even if they offer a price lower than the original cost of the import, we peach traders cannot sell at that price.

There are about 4 days left for peach traders to hope to sell all their goods to prepare for Tet. To prevent peach blossoms from blooming, some peach traders have used ropes to tie them tightly, not letting the peach buds come into direct contact with sunlight. The rest have stretched tarps to cover the peach trees, reducing the temperature. Many traders also do not dare to strip the leaves because that will make the peach blossoms bloom faster.

However, according to the majority of peach traders, some have accepted to reduce their prices to prepare for Tet early. Some customers, because they are afraid of peach blossoms blooming early, have turned to buying ornamental plants for Tet that are fresher for longer such as yellow apricot, kumquat, grapefruit, Phalaenopsis orchids, etc.
