Talking to reporters of the New Day Online Magazine, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bien, Head of the Executive Committee of the Elderly Association of Na Ri District, Bac Kan Province, said: The Association has 5,292 members, operating in 17 grassroots associations and 208 branches. Over the years, we have always paid attention to directing and mobilizing people to do a good job of caring for and improving the material and spiritual life of the elderly; encouraging organizations and individuals to care for, help and support the elderly. We always identify that caring for the elderly, especially the poor elderly, those in difficult circumstances, and those who are lonely and have no one to rely on, is a practical activity with profound humane meaning to help the elderly reduce some of the difficulties in life.
Determined to complete 8 key contents of the Association's work
On February 28, Emulation Cluster No. 1 of the Hanoi Association of the Elderly held a conference to deploy tasks and sign an emulation agreement for 2024. Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen The Toan, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the City's Elderly Association; Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Bac Tu Liem District Party Committee; Standing members of the City's Elderly Association and leaders of the Elderly Associations of 12 districts in Emulation Cluster No. 1.
Improve the quality of operations of affiliated units
On the morning of February 29, assigned by the President of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, Vice President Phan Van Hung chaired a working session with affiliated units (Elderly Magazine, Vietnam Elderly Cultural Center). Attending were leaders of the Organizing and Inspection Committee; leaders and experts of the Central Office of the Association and representatives of affiliated units. Last year, the Muong Khuong District Elderly Association promptly and seriously implemented the directives and guidelines of the Provincial Elderly Association and the Central Vietnam Elderly Association. NCT plays a good role in patriotic emulation movements
Da Nang City currently has nearly 99,000 elderly members. With the efforts of the Association at all levels, to date, over 46,700 members have been granted and changed their cards; 65,779 elderly people have had their data collected and transferred to the standing agency of Project 06 to enter the database on elderly people and elderly members. To improve the quality of the Association's activities and the elderly movement, the Association organized 7 training courses to improve knowledge, skills and expertise for more than 1,100 branch presidents (achieving the target for the 2021-2026 term).
