According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , the highlight of the main activities of the 12th TPO General Assembly is the Symposium: The main sessions will focus on new trends in the tourism industry, the role of digital transformation and green tourism in enhancing the tourist experience and enhancing the competitiveness of destinations.
The event also provides opportunities for networking and cooperation, delegates will have the opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and seek cooperation opportunities with tourism management agencies of other countries to develop joint tourism projects. The 12th TPO General Assembly in Ho Chi Minh City sets strategic goals to: Promote digital transformation in tourism: Focus on applying modern technologies such as AI, big data, virtual reality (VR)/augmented reality (AR) to enhance tourist experience, optimize destination management activities and increase marketing effectiveness. Develop green and sustainable tourism: Encourage environmentally friendly tourism solutions, minimize negative impacts on climate, preserve cultural and natural heritage, and promote social responsibility in the tourism industry. Enhance international cooperation: Create a bridge for TPO member cities to share knowledge and experience, and jointly develop multinational tourism programs and projects, promoting tourist flows between cities. Enhance the competitiveness of destinations: Share strategies for developing unique tourism products, improving service quality and building attractive destination brands.
The 12th TPO General Assembly will take place in parallel with the Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo - ITE HCMC 2025, the largest tourism fair in Vietnam, creating a rare opportunity for business connections and establishing strategic partnerships between countries in the tourism sector.

The Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO) was established in 2002 with the aim of becoming a center for promotion, information, and communication between tourist cities in the Asia-Pacific region. The organization was established at the 5th Asia-Pacific Cities Conference (APCS) in 2002 in Fukuoka, Japan. To date, the TPO has 131 city members and 56 members are tourism organizations/enterprises.
Ho Chi Minh City is one of the founding cities and the only city in Vietnam to hold the role of Executive Committee Member, actively participating in TPO activities, effectively contributing to strengthening and expanding cooperation relations, exchanging and learning experiences in tourism development among member cities. Through TPO, Ho Chi Minh City has been proactively and positively introducing the image of the destination to the world tourism community, contributing to attracting more and more international visitors to the city, especially visitors from key markets of Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia.
