On August 30, regarding the plan to organize bus routes and urban railways to serve the official celebration, parade, and march taking place on September 2, Director of the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center Thai Ho Phuong said that the urban railway route will operate trains from 0:00 on September 1, lasting until 3:10 on September 2, and continuing to operate from 4:30 on September 2.
Of which, from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.; 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the trains operate every 6 minutes, and the remaining hours operate every 10 minutes (the route stops operating from 3:10 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. for technical work); at the same time, additional mobile ticketing points will be added on the 1st and 2nd floors to serve passengers buying train tickets, avoiding congestion when queuing to get tickets.
For buses, the units will continue to extend the operating hours on the evening of September 1st towards the terminal stations of the two urban railway lines (maximum 24 hours) and open the stations early on September 2nd towards the stations to serve people transferring along the two urban railway lines to watch the official parade; Continue to arrange forces to monitor and operate at the terminal stations of the railways and bus transfer points (Long Bien, Hao Nam) to organize buses to relieve passengers after the ceremony ends.
To ensure better service for people attending events at the parade and official parade, and promptly clear passengers, the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center recommends that the Department of Construction and Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. arrange more personnel at stations to promptly clear passengers when requested.
The Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center also requested that the authorities continue to allow buses to move into the area inside Cat Linh Station, Long Bien and Kim Ma transfer points to relieve passengers because the ceremony is expected to end earlier than the road closure time.
According to the report of the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, through monitoring, on August 30, the rehearsal ended earlier than expected, so bus and urban railway operations adjusted according to the plan to increase clearance; passenger travel demand on railway routes increased but there was no overload, except for Cat Linh station and Cau Giay station, which were overloaded from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. after the rehearsal ended.
From 9:15 a.m., the forces of the City Traffic Management and Operation Center coordinated with the City Police and functional forces to operate connecting buses to clear passengers at Cat Linh station in 2 directions (Hao Nam and Giang Vo), and to clear passengers at the Long Bien bus transfer point according to the set plan.
At Cau Giay station (Cau Giay transit point), there are 14 bus routes ready to pick up and disembark passengers.
For the 2 urban railway lines, due to the sudden increase in passenger volume, the 2 urban railway lines have adjusted the plan to increase the frequency earlier than planned: Line 2A adjusted the train frequency to 6 minutes/trip from 9:00 (planned from 11:00) to 13:00, Line 3.1 adjusted the train frequency to 6 minutes/trip from 9:40 (planned from 11:00) to 11:30.
By 11:45, Cat Linh and Cau Giay stations had basically cleared passengers.
For bus routes, from 9:00 a.m. on August 30, after the end of the rehearsal, the Center's monitoring force coordinated with the functional forces to operate the bus routes to clear passengers at Cat Linh, Kim Ma, Giang Vo stations, Cau Giay stations and Long Bien transfer point (4 hours earlier than planned).
The relief bus routes operate continuously to ensure the fastest transportation and relief of passengers. The buses are basically full of passengers.
By 11:30 a.m., at Long Bien, Cau Giay and Cat Linh station transit points, bus routes had basically completed discharging passengers.
Notably, also on August 30, due to the increased travel demand of the people, the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center arranged 2 more vehicles, increasing the number of vehicles by 28 for route 32TC1 (Giap Bat Bus Station - Vietnam Exhibition Center) to serve people visiting the exhibition of 80 socio -economic development achievements at the Vietnam Exhibition Center.
