Regarding the fire at the parking lot in the Nguyen Khoi dyke area (Hong Ha ward, Hanoi ) at the foot of Vinh Tuy bridge at noon today, August 30, the Hanoi Department of Construction has requested the consulting unit to inspect issues related to safety and structure of Vinh Tuy bridge after this incident.

Confirming that he had received information about the fire, according to Mr. Tran Huu Bao, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Construction, the police are currently investigating the cause of the incident.

"The Department of Construction has asked the consulting unit to inspect issues related to safety and structure of Vinh Tuy bridge, where the fire just occurred," Mr. Bao added.

Previously, at around 12:30 on August 30, the authorities received a fire alarm at 335 Nguyen Khoi (Hong Ha Ward). Immediately after receiving the alarm, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Hanoi City Police) dispatched 10 firefighting vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with local police and residents to put out the fire.

Police quickly arrived to prevent the fire from spreading and extinguished it at around 1:30 p.m. the same day.

The area where the fire broke out was a parking lot. When the fire broke out, the plastic and rubber burned, causing black smoke to rise dozens of meters high, spreading throughout the area under Vinh Tuy bridge.

Initial information, the fire did not cause any human casualties, but the property damage was quite large with many motorbikes and bicycles burned.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by authorities.
