On August 18, Mr. Bui Duc Nhat (residing in Thanh Sen ward, Ha Tinh ) caught a golden mountain turtle weighing 0.6 kg on his way home. After investigating, Mr. Nhat discovered that this was a rare animal that needed to be protected, so he reported it to the ward police.
After receiving the animal, Thanh Sen Ward Police and forest rangers handed it over to Vu Quang National Park for care and monitoring before releasing it back into the natural environment.

It is known that the golden mountain tortoise has the scientific name Indotestudo elongata, belongs to group IIB, and is protected under Decree 6/2019/ND-CP amended by Decree 84/2021/ND-CP of the Government on "Management of endangered, precious and rare wild plants and animals and implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora".
