The construction unit deployed many vehicles and machines to serve the construction of DT.722 route.

After the merger, these two areas merged into Dam Rong 4 commune, the commune center was located in Da Long commune (old). The desire for the road to be completed was even greater to make administrative procedures easier.

"Sliding" progress

DT.722 route was approved by the People's Committee of Lam Dong province (old) on October 1, 2021 with a total investment of 600 billion VND. Of which, the additional central budget has a target of 500 billion VND and the provincial budget 100 billion VND.

The project is implemented to form a longitudinal axis parallel to National Highway 20 connecting Da Lat area and Dam Rong area with Dak Lak province; gradually completing traffic infrastructure in the province according to the approved planning; meeting the increasing traffic demand, creating conditions to promote socio -economic development, ensuring security and defense in the locality.

The construction unit must conduct blasting to open the road.

The route has a total length of 18.9 km, starting point (km 0) intersecting with Truong Son Dong road at Dung K'No intersection (old Dung K'No commune) and ending point (Km 18+ 900) in Da Long commune (old Dam Rong district) invested by Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (now Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1). The project started on October 1, 2022, built according to the standards of grade IV mountainous roads. There are 3 reinforced concrete bridges on the route.

The rainy weather has slowed down construction progress and made travel difficult for people.

According to the original plan, the entire project would be completed in the period 2021-2024. However, to date, the project is still in disarray.

Mr. Tran Van Hiep, in charge of monitoring the project, Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1, said: Previously, the implementation of this project encountered many difficulties in site clearance due to the forest area belonging to the Da Nhim Forest Management Board and Serepok Forest Management Board. The project completed the procedures for changing the purpose of forest use in March 2025 and completed the tree felling work to fully hand over the site in May 2025.

Some items have been damaged by subsidence and landslides.

Currently, the project has disbursed 65,217 billion VND in capital. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the entire capital of 191,983 billion VND of the central budget will be disbursed. The construction progress of the project is "slipping" from schedule. Currently, the package has to complete procedures to extend the progress until the end of mid-2026.

Workers reinforce anchor positions and insure the project.

Present at the construction site on August 8, the reporter noted that the construction unit has deployed many vehicles, machines and equipment for construction. However, due to the continuous rain in the area, the construction work was interrupted.

Many concrete embankment projects to reinforce the slope of the project were carried out by the construction unit.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thanh, representative of the construction unit, said: Currently, the contractor has paved the road surface with asphalt concrete at both ends of the route and paved the asphalt concrete. 3 bridges on the route are basically completed. The cumulative volume is estimated at over 53%.

After the administrative boundary merger, the DT.722 road is now located entirely within the boundaries of Dam Rong 4 commune. And this is the only and vital road connecting the Dung K'No area with the commune center.

Traveling to grasp the situation and carry out tasks in the Dung K'No area of Dam Rong 4 commune encountered many difficulties.

Mr. Tran Phu Vinh, Secretary of Dam Rong 4 Commune, said: After the merger, the work was in disarray. Especially with the merger of communes belonging to 2 districts such as Dung K'No and Da Long, the difficulties were even greater. Immediately after its establishment, it was very difficult to grasp the situation and carry out tasks in the Dung K'No area of Dam Rong 4 Commune. Commune leaders could only travel by motorbike, which took a lot of time. In rainy and windy weather, travel was almost impossible. This greatly affected the implementation of tasks of the commune after the merger in particular and socio-economic development tasks in general.

The unfinished road makes it very difficult for officials and people to enter the production area in Dung Trang or Da Long.

Mr. Ha Quyen (25 years old), a resident of Dung K'No shared: "At first, when the road was started, everyone was very happy, but until now it is still not completed, going to the production area in Dung Trang or to Da Long is very difficult. Only men in the house can go because the road is too muddy."

The first 2 km of DT.722 road have been paved with asphalt by the construction unit.

The construction unit has gathered all kinds of aggregate materials to the construction site to prepare for the roadbed.

Due to the difficult road conditions, to ensure the settlement of administrative procedures for the people in the Dung K'No area, Dam Rong 4 commune has assigned 5 officers to be on duty at the headquarters of the old Dung K'No commune. Documents that need to be stamped directly will be collected and brought to the commune center by officers to create the most convenience for the people in the Dung K'No area.

To develop transportation, we must go one step ahead. Especially for Dung K'No and Da Long, the two most difficult areas of Lac Duong (old) and Dam Rong (old) districts, when merging into one single road connecting these two areas, it is even more urgent.

The construction unit aims to complete the route by the end of 2025, thereby partially meeting the travel needs of the people.

To overcome the weather situation, contractors proactively carry out other tasks during the peak of the rainy season such as: casting concrete structures, constructing reinforced concrete, etc. When the weather is favorable, it is necessary to increase human resources, materials and work overtime to limit delays.

After nearly 3 years of waiting, the promise of "completed road" is still ahead, the people of Dam Rong 4 in particular and Lam Dong province in general hope that the investor and contractor need to have solutions to overcome the shortcomings in construction and speed up the progress, soon complete the project to open the road to serve convenient travel, promote socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security in the whole province.
