Focusing efforts on resolving difficulties in the Quang Vinh bridge project.

The Quang Vinh 1 and Quang Vinh 2 bridge projects are currently undergoing intensive construction work by contractors to ensure timely completion. However, land clearance at several locations remains a bottleneck affecting the implementation process. Local authorities and relevant agencies need to urgently resolve these issues to ensure the projects are constructed synchronously and according to schedule.

The Quang Vinh 1 bridge is currently 60% complete. However, there are still land acquisition issues on the right side of the bridge for the access road construction.
The Quang Vinh 1 bridge is currently 60% complete. However, there are still land acquisition issues on the right side of the bridge for the access road.

According to the Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Transportation and Agricultural Works in Thai Nguyen Province, the project has a total land acquisition area of over 17.6 hectares, affecting 491 households and 11 organizations in Quan Trieu and Linh Son wards; of which nearly 200 households need to be relocated.

To date, land clearance work in Linh Son ward has yielded positive results. The locality has completed the inventory of almost all affected households and approved compensation plans for 226 households with a total budget of over 84.6 billion VND.

However, 31 households have yet to be allocated resettlement land. Meanwhile, in Quan Trieu ward, the land clearance process is still slow. Currently, the locality has only completed the survey of more than half of the households subject to land acquisition and allocated resettlement land to 10 out of 131 households.

The discontinuous nature of the construction site has resulted in many sections of the route being fragmented, making it difficult for machinery to access and hindering the transportation of materials. On the Quang Vinh 1 bridge construction site, many key components have been basically completed.

The contractor has cast 32 out of 34 girder slabs and is accelerating the fabrication of steel arch segments at the workshop. The value of work completed has reached over 192 billion VND, equivalent to over 60% of the contract value.

At Quang Vinh 2 bridge, the foundation, pier body, approach roads, and steel structure components are being simultaneously implemented, with a total value of nearly 170 billion VND.

Mr. Duong Quoc Khanh, Deputy General Director of Investment and Construction Company No. 18, said: The contractor is mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment, and organizing multiple construction teams to catch up on the schedule. However, the biggest difficulty currently remains the discontinuous nature of the construction site, while the early arrival of rain and floods directly affects the construction items along the river.

Not only the bridge section, but the construction of the connecting road in phase 1 is also facing many difficulties due to fragmented land plots and a lack of access roads for transporting materials. The value of work completed has only reached about 2.8% of the plan. According to the investor's assessment, the overall progress of the project is about 10% behind schedule.

Under pressure to meet deadlines, the Provincial Project Management Board for Investment in Transportation and Agriculture Construction is coordinating with local authorities to focus on resolving difficulties, especially in resettlement and land clearance.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, representative of the Provincial Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Transportation and Agricultural Projects, said: The unit is coordinating to expedite compensation work, requesting the early completion of resettlement areas to hand over land to people; at the same time, requesting contractors to supplement equipment and personnel, and take advantage of favorable weather to speed up progress.

Currently, the province has allocated over 4.1 hectares of land for the project and continues to direct localities to remove remaining bottlenecks and accelerate infrastructure investment in resettlement areas in Quang Vinh ward (formerly) and resettlement area No. 2 in Cao Ngan commune (formerly) to meet the needs of affected households.

The workload ahead is immense. Land acquisition and resettlement bottlenecks, if not resolved soon, will continue to affect the overall progress. Along with the contractor's efforts, the decisive actions of local authorities and relevant agencies are especially important to ensure the new bridges are completed promptly, meeting expectations for a modern infrastructure appearance for the city center.
