(NLĐO) - A woman died after colliding with a Hung Long passenger bus on National Highway 1 in Quang Binh province, causing traffic congestion for several hours.
The scene of the accident
On the evening of February 3rd, the People's Committee of Quang Xuan commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province, announced that a serious traffic accident had occurred on National Highway 1 in the area, resulting in the death of a woman.
According to initial information, at approximately 3:30 PM on the same day, a passenger bus with license plate 29K-00xxx, traveling northbound on National Highway 1, collided with a woman (whose identity is unknown) crossing the road in Thanh Luong village, Quang Xuan commune, Quang Trach district.
The powerful collision resulted in the victim's immediate death. Many witnesses at the scene reported that the incident happened very quickly, with the victim being dragged under the bus for more than 20 meters.
Immediately after receiving the report, authorities arrived at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident. The Quang Trach District Police, along with related units, conducted a scene examination, took statements from witnesses, and regulated traffic.
The accident caused a traffic jam stretching approximately 2 kilometers on National Highway 1. Numerous vehicles were stuck, hindering traffic flow through the area.
Around 5 PM, after the initial handling of the situation was completed, traffic on National Highway 1 gradually returned to normal.
Traffic was backed up for hours after the accident.
