Hoang Cong proudly introduced to reporters that his wife used to be an actress, then a voice actress.

"Dubbing movies doesn't earn much money, so people who used to work as voice actors have quit the profession one by one, such as Do Ky, Lan Huong, Huong Dung, Phu Thang, Cong Ly, Trung Hieu, Nguyet Hang.... In Hanoi, she is the only one still doing voiceovers, but maybe that's why her work is still steady," he shared with VietNamNet reporter.

When asked why Hoang Cong did not encourage his wife to act again, he said he had also advised her to return to the profession but failed. "Up until now, whenever she was invited to act in a film, she was hesitant. It was not because she was arrogant, but something made her shy. She could not play a role that was too long because she wanted to maintain her voiceover work. She did not do it for the high income but because people needed her and wanted to reciprocate their feelings. Fortunately, the work was regular, so she was able to support her life to some extent," the actor said.

Hoang Cong's wife is 2 years older than him. The two had gone through a broken marriage before coming together. They got married in 2019 and have a son who just started first grade along with 3 sons from a previous marriage.

Currently, Hoang Cong and his wife both have their own careers. She is a freelance voice actor while he works at the People's Police Drama Theater and regularly participates in TV dramas. Recently, they both participated in dubbing for the animated film Trang Quynh Nhi and are busier with their side business.

Hoang Cong said that his family has a tradition of doing business since his grandparents' time, so after graduating from high school, he had the intention of working in this field. However, Hoang Cong then decided to study for the Law University entrance exam but passed the exam to the University of Theater and Cinema. A few months ago, the actor decided to invest in a vegetarian restaurant with his friend.

In response to this question, the actor shared: "I never thought I would be a police officer, nor did I think I would be famous. My chance to become an actor came unexpectedly because I studied for the Law School entrance exam but then passed the Theater & Cinema School and switched to acting. When I graduated, I only thought I would be a normal actor, not a police officer. And when I became a police officer, I never thought I would go into business, but only thought of dedicating myself to the industry and the profession.

I hope my business is successful so that artists have the confidence to overcome their economic situation and devote more to their acting career. When they have a stable second job to support their right-handed career, it will flourish even more."

Hoang Cong said that when his close friend opened a restaurant, the actor wanted to do business together but was rejected. "We have been friends since childhood, he understood my situation so he told me to take it slow, when I made a profit, he would let me work together. He felt sorry for me and was afraid that I would take risks, so a few months ago he asked me to work with him. He said now is the time to put down the money," he said jokingly.

Although business is still difficult, Hoang Cong and his friend decided to open a vegetarian restaurant to spread love, not putting profit first. This job also helps his wife to meet more people besides maintaining her voiceover work. The actor is very happy with his current life.
