A cultural performance at the art program "60 Years - The Epic of Ham Rong".
At the end of March 2025, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Folk Art Festival was held, bringing together nearly 1,000 outstanding actors, artisans, and musicians from 22 folk art troupes, showcasing the diverse cultural nuances of Thanh Hoa province. The sounds of gongs, cymbals, flutes, and reed pipes, imbued with the mountain and forest spirit of the Dao, Mong, and Thai ethnic groups, as well as the performances of Xuan Pha and Pon Poong from the mountainous districts, resonated and shone brightly, inviting visitors from near and far to the western part of Thanh Hoa. The sounds echoing from the sea, through the songs and dances of actors and musicians from the plains and coastal areas, brought to the festival a wealth of emotions, both new and unique, leaving many positive impressions on the people and tourists.
Following the Thanh Hoa Provincial Folk Art Festival, the art program "60 Years - The Epic of Ham Rong" transported people back to the glorious past of Ham Rong and showcased a Thanh Hoa and Ham Rong that are developing strongly day by day. Through this, it "ignited" the revolutionary spirit, fostered pride and gratitude for precious historical values, and helped all segments of the population raise their awareness and responsibility in preserving and enhancing the glorious historical and revolutionary traditions of the heroic Thanh Hoa region.
The above are just two of the many impressive and outstanding cultural and artistic programs that have been jointly organized by various levels and sectors in the province since the beginning of the year. To concretize the resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Party on cultural and artistic work, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department has advised the Provincial Party Standing Committee to issue many documents guiding and directing implementation.
2025 was a year of many major events for the country and the province. Therefore, various levels and sectors coordinated to organize many large-scale cultural and artistic activities such as the art program "Greeting the Year of the Snake," commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and reunification of the country, the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh, the 60th anniversary of the Ham Rong victory, and the opening art program of the Sam Son, Nghi Son, and Hai Tien beach tourism festivals... leaving many positive impressions on the people and tourists visiting Thanh Hoa province.
The mass cultural and artistic movement is regularly organized and given attention. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with relevant units to organize and participate in many cultural and artistic activities such as art exchanges, competitions, and performances. Film screenings and film weeks promoting political tasks or major anniversaries are also regularly organized to serve the people. Cultural activities during festivals are organized in accordance with civilized lifestyles, national cultural traditions, and the customs and traditions of the people of the province.
Building a healthy cultural environment for development is also emphasized, from families and schools to the community. The movement "All people unite to build a cultured life," linked with the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," and the title "Model village, hamlet, and residential area," has spread widely. Regulations on weddings, funerals, and festivals are implemented according to new lifestyles, with 100% of villages, hamlets, and residential areas having established village charters and regulations that conform to the local customs and traditions.
The preservation and promotion of ethnic cultural values and the unique cultural characteristics of Thanh Hoa province have been comprehensively and synchronously implemented. The Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has guided units to implement the plan to participate in the "Spring Colors Across the Nation" festival at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village; and continues to implement the project "Preservation, promotion and development of the spoken language, written language, costumes, and traditional crafts of ethnic minorities in Thanh Hoa province," and the project "Cultural and artistic activities program serving remote, border, island, and ethnic minority areas, giai đoạn 2021-2030"... Traditional festivals, folk games, folk performances, folk songs, and folk dances of the ethnic groups in the province, especially those recognized as national intangible cultural heritage, continue to be revived.
The literary and artistic creative activities organized by the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, in coordination with various sectors and localities, allow writers and artists to immerse themselves in reality and create many works reflecting various aspects of social life. Many high-quality works, reflecting the beauty of the land and people of Thanh Hoa, have contributed to enriching the cultural and spiritual life of the people of all ethnic groups in the province and awakened pride and aspirations to build a culture and people of Thanh Hoa that meet the requirements of integration and sustainable development.
The vibrant and widespread cultural activities organized have contributed to improving the people's lives and cultural enjoyment needs, while also effectively and promptly preventing and refuting false and hostile information and viewpoints, thereby strengthening the people's trust in the Party's leadership.
