Locals said the steep mountain terrain and weak ground make each prolonged rain a concern. In 2022, rocks rolled down the mountain, causing no damage but making people live in constant fear. Recently, many rocks have developed deep cracks, threatening to collapse at any time.

Mr. Pham Van Lam, Head of Lang Teng Village, said many rocks are stacked on top of each other in dangerous positions, making it very dangerous for people to go to the fields.
Mr. Pham Van Lai reported that people have petitioned the authorities to handle the situation soon, especially before the rainy season, because "just one heavy rain can cause rocks to fall down, and no one will dare to go up the mountain anymore."
The Ba Dong Commune authorities have surveyed the current situation and developed a plan to handle the rocks, planning to split them into smaller pieces or move them to reduce the risk of landslides. At the same time, the authorities have warned people to limit their mountain climbing, monitor geological cracks and prepare emergency evacuation plans if the rain and floods become more complicated.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh, Chairman of Ba Dong Commune People's Committee, said that the locality is reviewing resources; in case it exceeds capacity, it will propose to the provincial level for emergency support to promptly prevent before the rainy and stormy season.
The danger from the “hanging rocks” at Go Ui Mountain not only threatens homes and property, but also directly affects people’s lives. The early implementation of a solution is an urgent requirement to ensure safety for the community./.
