Former Thanh Hoa Party Secretary Do Trong Hung was removed from all positions in the Party.

(Dan Tri) - With many violations causing very serious consequences, former Thanh Hoa Party Secretary Do Trong Hung was disciplined by the Central Committee by being removed from all positions in the Party.

The disciplinary review of Mr. Do Trong Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Hoa province, was mentioned by the Central Committee at the 13th Central Conference, which opened on the morning of October 6.

At this Conference, the Central Committee decided to take disciplinary action by removing Mr. Do Trong Hung from all positions in the Party. The Central Committee determined that Mr. Hung had violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

The former Thanh Hoa Party Secretary also violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

Mr. Hung's violations caused very serious consequences, outraged public opinion, and had a very negative impact on the reputation of the Party organization and local government.

At the meeting on September 26, the Politburo and Secretariat reviewed violations by the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term (from the beginning of the term to September 2024).

The Politburo and the Secretariat found that the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term (from the beginning of the term to September 2024) violated the principle of democratic centralism, Party regulations, and Working Regulations.

This Standing Committee has loosened its leadership and direction, and lacked inspection and supervision, allowing the Party Executive Committee of the Provincial People's Committee and many Party organizations and Party members, including key officials of the province, to commit violations in leadership, direction, and organization of land, resource, and mineral management; in performing assigned duties and tasks; and in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity.

The Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee at that time also violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example; causing serious consequences, risking large losses of the state budget, bad public opinion, and reducing the prestige of the party organization and local government.

Regarding personal responsibility, the Politburo and the Secretariat determined that Mr. Do Trong Hung, during his tenure as a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks; in preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.
