(QBĐT) - Information from the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center said that participating in the 2024 National Swimming and Diving Championship, the Quang Binh sports delegation has just won 4 gold medals (HCV) and 2 bronze medals (HCĐ).

Accordingly, from October 10-20, the 2024 National Swimming and Diving Championship took place at the Da Nang City Swimming and Diving Club. The tournament was co-organized by the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association and the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City, attracting the participation of nearly 300 athletes from 23 sports delegations of units and localities across the country.

Of which, swimming has 18 teams with more than 120 athletes competing in the following events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m freestyle; 50m, 100m, 200m breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly; 200m, 400m medley; 4x100m, 4x200m freestyle; 4x100m, 4x200m medley... Diving has 18 teams with more than 160 athletes competing in the events of fins, double fins, speed diving, air diving and relays of various distances.

Competing at the 2024 National Swimming and Diving Championship, swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang (Quang Binh) excellently won 4 gold medals in the 200m, 400m, 800m and 1,500m freestyle events and 1 bronze medal in the 200m butterfly event. This is an impressive achievement for athlete Nguyen Huy Hoang, despite his old age, he still showed his form and completed the goals set by the coaching staff.

In diving, athlete Ngo Minh Chien (Quang Binh) competed hard to win a bronze medal in the 400m double fin event.

The 2024 National Swimming and Diving Championship is the most important tournament in the competition system of the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association. The tournament has the participation of the best swimmers and divers in Vietnam. The achievements of the Quang Binh delegation at this tournament have contributed to affirming the province's strong sport in the national arena.
