Hanoi , Nguyen Viet Trung will solo the Rhapsody on the theme of Paganini, Op. 43 for piano and orchestra, by Sergei Rachmaninoff, a Russian musical genius. This is one of Rachmaninoff's last works, because after that he focused almost entirely on performing and only composed two more works: Symphony No. 3, Op. 44 and Symphony Dances, Op. 45... Under the direction of French music director Olivier Ochanine, the concert will take place at the Ho Guom Theater in Hanoi. In his message, conductor O.Ochanine said: “To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff’s birth, the concert introduces a famous composer with extremely lyrical music, just like the Vietnamese songs that have accompanied life here. In fact, some of Rachmaninoff’s melodies have been used as the main melodies in famous songs around the world such as “Never Gonna Fall in Love Again”, “Full Moon and Empty Arms”, “Tat Tat By Chinh Toi” and many more!”. In recent years in Vietnam, in addition to artistic and musical activities, classical symphony has always received attention from fans. The great names of the world's classical music are performed by the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, attracting not only foreigners living in Vietnam but also Vietnamese audiences who love this type of classical music. Among them, Rachmaninoff is perhaps the most anticipated genius because his works have a strong appeal with a level of difficulty, challenging the talents of great players.
