Through simple yet practical actions, many people in difficult circumstances are given the motivation to rise above their challenges, contributing to the multiplication of positive values in life.

A pillar of support for those in difficult circumstances.
In a small house in Hiep Hoa commune, Bac Ninh province, Nguyen Van Duy (born in 2012) has repeatedly faced the risk of having to drop out of school due to his family's extremely difficult circumstances. After his parents divorced, Duy and his two siblings lived with their father in impoverished conditions. Their father, the family's main breadwinner, suffered from depression and stage 3 cirrhosis, while the youngest sibling, only 5 years old, had cerebral palsy and was frequently ill.
Despite his declining health, the father still tries to do seasonal work to support his children's education. Given this situation, through the coordination of the Provincial Red Cross and benefactors, Duy's family will receive 1 million VND per month starting in 2025. In 2026, the support will be increased to 3 million VND per month for six months to help the family overcome their most difficult period.
It's not just Duy's family; many other unfortunate circumstances in the province have also received support and sharing from the community. In early 2025, after his mother passed away, Le Tuan Anh (born in 2014, Tien Luc commune) lived with his grandmother in a dilapidated charity house. His grandmother, Tran Thi Vien (74 years old), was his only support, but due to her advanced age, frail health, and serious illnesses such as heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and cirrhosis, the lives of the two became even more difficult. Unable to work, for many months, the two relied mainly on the support and care of relatives and neighbors.
In that situation, the Provincial Red Cross Society, in coordination with Dan Tri Newspaper and philanthropists, appealed for support, helping Tuan Anh's family receive nearly 186 million VND to cover living expenses and provide additional funds for his grandmother's medical treatment. Mrs. Tran Thi Vien emotionally shared that there were times when she and her grandson didn't know where to turn for help to continue living. With her advanced age and persistent illnesses, what troubled her most was that her grandson, so young, had to endure so much hardship. Thanks to the help and support of the community, the two of them have gained more motivation and hope to overcome this difficult period.
Besides supporting those in particularly difficult circumstances, many humanitarian projects aimed at children in disadvantaged areas are also being implemented in the province. Recently, the Provincial Red Cross Society organized the inauguration and handover of a school canteen at the Quynh Lau village school, Tam Tien commune kindergarten.
The school currently has 101 children, mainly from ethnic minority communities and disadvantaged families. Previously, the kitchen area lacked proper infrastructure, and the conditions for caring for and nurturing the children were inadequate. The new kitchen, built on an area of 60 m², follows a one-way kitchen process, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards. The total cost of 300 million VND was raised by the Vietnam Red Cross Society through a donation from Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company via the "Nutrition for Poor and Disabled Children" program.
According to school leaders, the project not only helps improve the conditions for organizing school lunch programs for students but also contributes to improving the quality of care and nurturing for children in the local area.
Spreading values of compassion

No longer a sporadic activity, for many years now, Humanitarian Month in Bac Ninh has truly become a peak period of compassion, where the spirit of sharing is widely spread through concrete and practical actions.
According to Nguyen Duy Bao, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society, over the past five years, humanitarian work in the province has become increasingly in-depth, closely following the actual needs of the people, especially the vulnerable and those in particularly difficult circumstances. Through various movements, campaigns, and the annual Humanitarian Month, the entire province has mobilized more than 113 billion VND to assist nearly 100,000 people.
Specifically during the period 2021-2025, the various levels of the Association have mobilized over 10 billion VND for the Humanitarian Fund and assistance activities; supporting more than 60 particularly disadvantaged cases with amounts ranging from 50 to 200 million VND per case.
Humanitarian activities in Bac Ninh are not limited to immediate support but are gradually moving towards sustainability. Through social mobilization, the province has built and renovated 192 Red Cross houses for poor and disadvantaged households. For many families, this is not simply a new roof over their heads, but also a foundation for stabilizing their lives after years of hardship.
In addition, more than 300 humanitarian models continue to be effectively maintained, such as "Humanitarian Porridge Pots," "Free Meals," "Free Clothing Closets," "Cattle Banks," and "Humanitarian Fund Boxes"... These models appear in many localities, from hospitals and residential areas to disadvantaged rural regions, quietly connecting benevolent hearts with those in need.
In the field of healthcare, the various levels of the Association organized more than 150 medical examinations, health consultations, and free medicine distribution sessions for over 21,000 people, mainly the elderly, poor households, and those in difficult circumstances. The "Each organization, each individual linked to a humanitarian cause" movement was also regularly maintained, thereby sustainably assisting more than 1,500 humanitarian causes in the province.
Another notable achievement in humanitarian work in Bac Ninh province is the increasingly widespread voluntary blood donation movement. During the Humanitarian Month alone, the province received over 20,000 units of blood. Behind these figures are thousands of patients saved, and the noble act of countless people willing to share their blood to extend the lives of others.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Bao, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, the results achieved in the 2021-2025 period are clear evidence of the power of compassion and the joint efforts of the entire political system, the business community, and all sectors of the population in social welfare work.
In the coming period, Red Cross branches at all levels in the province will focus on more sustainable assistance activities such as livelihood support, job creation, education support, and healthcare to enable people to improve their lives. Reviewing and updating the "humanitarian address" database, strengthening connections with businesses, philanthropists, and social organizations will help ensure timely and more relevant assistance. Furthermore, the application of information technology and digital transformation in humanitarian activities is also identified as a necessary requirement to improve the efficiency of resource coordination and connection in the current context.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Bao, the most important thing is to ensure that the spirit of compassion is not only present in movements or at certain peak times, but truly becomes a regular and beautiful aspect of community life; so that every citizen and every organization can join hands through concrete actions, however small but practical, contributing to spreading love and building a more humane society.
