Also in the A segment, the 5-seater Hyundai Venue, with a listed price of 499-539 million VND, boasts a youthful, compact design, fuel efficiency, and is well-suited for city driving.
The B/B+ segment SUV market is fiercely competitive. Notable examples include the Mitsubishi Xforce, which stands out with its 222mm ground clearance and extremely spacious interior, priced from 599-705 million VND. In the same segment, the Toyota Yaris Cross, priced around 650-765 million VND, boasts a sharp, modern design, superior safety technology , and a highly fuel-efficient hybrid engine option. Additionally, the two 5-seater SUVs, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, starting at 599 million VND, are extremely attractive choices for first-time car buyers or young families.
The C-SUV segment includes 5-seater and 5+2 seater models such as the Mazda CX-5, Ford Territory, Hyundai Tucson, and Honda CR-V. Recently, Mitsubishi also launched the Destinator in the Vietnamese market. Although belonging to the C segment, the 7-seater Destinator is considered to have quite spacious dimensions and interior space, approaching that of some D-segment models. The Mitsubishi Destinator comes in two versions, Premium and Ultimate, with listed prices of 780-855 million VND respectively. In December, Mitsubishi Vietnam applied a price of 739-808 million VND, along with gifts from dealerships.
In strong competition with internal combustion engine vehicles are electric car models from the VinFast brand. With a 5-seat configuration, the VinFast VF 5 is positioned in the A-SUV segment with a starting price of 529 million VND. For customers purchasing in December, the down payment is only 474 million VND when all dealer promotions are applied. Despite being an A-segment car, the VF 5 boasts impressive performance compared to gasoline-powered competitors in the same price range, with a driving range of approximately 326km per full charge. In the B-SUV segment, the VinFast VF 6 is priced from 689-749 million VND, depending on the version, and offers a driving range of 380-400km on a full charge. The car has a spacious interior comparable to C-segment models and targets urban, young customers or small families. The VinFast VF 7 is a 5-seater electric C-SUV priced from 789-999 million VND, notable for its modern, distinctive design and the most powerful performance in its segment. The VF 7 has a driving range of 375-431km (depending on the version).
According to many car dealerships, SUVs, with their high ground clearance, offer drivers better visibility while driving. High ground clearance is also advantageous when navigating flooded or rough roads. Therefore, many customers in the Mekong Delta region, including Can Tho City, are increasingly choosing urban SUV models to meet their daily commuting needs.
