On the afternoon of December 24th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City held a conference to summarize the Front's work in 2024 and to implement the coordinated program and unified action plan for 2025.
In 2024, the Fatherland Front of Hai Phong city and its member organizations mobilized businesses and philanthropists to support the people in overcoming the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 with a total amount of 186.4 billion VND. From this, Hai Phong supported the construction and repair of nearly 1,000 houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households with difficult circumstances, with the highest funding level in the country (100 million VND/household for new construction); and supported over 2,000 disadvantaged households in restoring agricultural production.
To date, Hai Phong has completed 100% of the repairs to 504 houses, and nearly 50% of the newly built houses have been inaugurated; the districts and communes have disbursed over 60% of the support funds.

In addition, in 2024, the City's Fatherland Front supported the construction of 481 solidarity houses with a total budget of 47.3 billion VND. Thus, in 2024 alone, Hai Phong built 1.1 times more houses and twice the amount of money compared to the entire previous 5-year period (the entire period from 2019 to 2023 built 438 houses with a total budget of 23.59 billion VND).
The Fatherland Front of the city and its member organizations have also achieved many outstanding results in implementing the "National Unity Campaign for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" with many good models and creative approaches.
These include the "Waste Sorting at Source" model in Cap Tien commune, Tien Lang district; the "Green Tourism - Sustainable Development" model in Xuan Dam commune, Cat Hai district; the "Propaganda and Mobilization of Resources to Effectively Implement Social Welfare" model in An Lu commune, Thuy Nguyen district; and the "Civilized and Safe Ward - Ensuring Fire Prevention and Control" model in May Chai ward, Ngo Quyen district...
In 2024 alone, people donated 400,000 square meters of land, worth nearly 5 trillion VND, for the construction of new rural areas. To date, Hai Phong has 137 communes that have achieved advanced new rural area standards, 92 communes that have achieved model new rural area standards, and 7 out of 8 districts have achieved new rural area standards.
With the significant achievements made, the City's Fatherland Front received the Emulation Flag for the group of 5 centrally-administered cities.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dao Trong Duc, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front Committee, affirmed: 2025 is the year of organizing the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, the first year of implementing the Resolution of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress at all levels for the 2024-2029 term. It is also the year of implementing the Project on organizing the urban government of Hai Phong City, rearranging administrative units at the district and commune levels for the 2023-2030 period, and the beginning of a new era of national development. Especially at this time, the entire political system is focusing on streamlining organizational structures and personnel; therefore, the Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations need to continue to innovate the content and methods of their activities.
The Chairman of the Hai Phong City Fatherland Front Committee emphasized that Fatherland Front officials must innovate their thinking and working methods, diversify organizational forms and methods of gathering and mobilizing, focusing strongly on the grassroots and residential areas. Alongside reforming the organizational structure and improving the capacity of Fatherland Front officials at all levels, the Fatherland Front needs to focus on propaganda to create consensus in awareness and action when implementing restructuring, paying attention to those affected by the restructuring and streamlining of the apparatus.
