According to the reorganization project of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces, Phu Yen University will retain its name, functions and tasks. Meanwhile, a series of colleges will be merged and renamed.

In which, Dak Lak College and Phu Yen Vocational College merged into Dak Lak College with 379 staff.

Merge Dak Lak Medical College and Phu Yen Medical College into Dak Lak Medical College with 112 staff. Dak Lak College of Culture and Arts remains the same.

Similar to many universities and colleges in Quang Tri (new) with similar functions and tasks, they will also be reorganized and renamed. Quang Binh Medical College and Quang Tri Medical College will be reorganized into Quang Tri Medical College.

Some universities and colleges were kept intact and renamed to match the name of Quang Tri province. Among them, Quang Binh University was renamed Quang Tri University, Quang Binh Vocational College was renamed Quang Tri Vocational College, and Quang Binh College of Industry and Agriculture was renamed Quang Tri College of Industry and Agriculture.

The remaining colleges remain the same, including Quang Tri Pedagogical College and Quang Tri Provincial Technical College.

Meanwhile, according to press information in early July 2025, Ca Mau province decided to keep the status quo of universities and colleges from Bac Lieu province after the merger.

These schools include: Bac Lieu University, Bac Lieu Vocational College, Bac Lieu College of Economics and Technology, and Bac Lieu Medical College.
