(NLDO) - Many alleys in Catholic neighborhoods in Ho Chi Minh City are brightly decorated; people eagerly await Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

Christmas is near, the Catholic neighborhood on Pham The Hien Street, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City with 5 adjacent parishes (Binh Thai, Binh An Thuong, Binh An Ha, Binh Thuan and Binh Son) is always brightly lit. Many miniatures such as pine trees, nativity scenes, etc. are splendidly decorated, attracting many people to visit, take photos and check-in.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (living in District 8) took his grandson to visit the nativity scene in a church. “Our city continues to have many changes this year. This year’s Christmas, many places are more beautiful than last year. In the new year, I hope the city will have more changes and develop more strongly in all aspects,” he said.

Not only churches, but most of the small alleys on Le Duc Tho, Pham Van Chieu, Thong Nhat streets... (Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh City) are also brightly lit.

“This year’s church is decorated differently than last year, more creatively, spaciously, beautifully and splendidly. The air is also quite cool” - Mr. Nguyen Tan Dat (residing in Go Vap district) commented.

Alley 561 Pham Van Chieu, Go Vap district is about 300m long, decorated by people for about 100m with many lights with color changing effects and two rows of trees with lights.

Ms. Thuy Hang (living in Go Vap district) and her husband came to take photos to welcome Christmas, hoping for a peaceful new year. “The city is about to put Metro Line 1 into operation. I hope our city will develop even more strongly. Roads like this will make the city more beautiful and civilized,” Ms. Hang said.

At night, the weather becomes cooler, the flow of people to the Catholic villages becomes more crowded. Many families take advantage of the evening to go to church to have fun, visit and capture beautiful moments during this Christmas.
