Miss you guys

Every year on July 27, all over Vietnam, people remember the heroic martyrs and wounded soldiers who left part of their blood on the battlefield for the independence and peace of the Fatherland.

The living comrades remember the deceased, the heroic Vietnamese mothers whose hair has now turned white remember their children who have gone forever, those who live in peace remember the brothers with gratitude for their sacrifices...

SGGP Newspaper introduces a collection of poems about wounded and fallen soldiers by authors Nguyen Phung Ky and Kim Chi.

Please guys

July 27 every year

I went to the cemetery to visit my comrades.

Burn incense and send it in the smoke

Many unspoken words

You guys are here, where are the rest of your comrades?

Searching forever but still no remains

On the Central Highlands, among the palmyra palm forest

Or a field, a garden filled with sand in the middle of the river?

Every winter wind and rain season

I cover myself with a cotton blanket but still feel cold.

I feel sorry for you guys who are still lost and lonely.

Soul wandering in the mountain wind and clouds

The people lying here must be heartbroken.

Also painfully waiting wearily

Every time I hear news of finding teammates

Joyful tears uncontrollable

This July is quietly boring

How many people live but can not come

Whether it's an incense stick, a vase of flowers, or a bowl of water

The tray is not full but full of gratitude

Respectfully bow to teammates and relatives

Please forgive me a thousand times.

Lullaby Memory

(Dedicated to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers )

Touch the picture of the youngest son

Among the many teammates in a row

Thin eyes fell down

Tears of sadness follow the incense smoke…

Mother looked at the quiet afternoon

Distant memories flood back

All these years I'm still young

Happy to receive gifts from home

This is the jasmine tea I like.

Drinking with teammates on a rainy afternoon

Here is a warm tobacco stick

When the cold wind changes season…

Remember spring in the kitchen

Thin roof, full of sunlight

Gather around the pot of banh tet

New Year's Eve suddenly filled with tear gas

How many years have you not been back?

Age of name on stone stele forever

Burn incense on each grave

Lullaby... mother sings lullaby...
