Positive signals regarding the release.
Professor Tran Van Tho's book, *Memories to the Future* (Omega Plus and Da Nang Publishing House), was published in May 2025 and, thanks to the effect of the summer book tour program, has been reprinted many times.
During the autumn book tour, Professor Tran Van Tho continued his book exchange and presentation activities with students at the following universities: Dong A University (Da Nang), Pacific University (Khanh Hoa), and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics . Thus, including both tours, Omega Plus has brought Professor Tran Van Tho to interact with students at 10 universities nationwide, not including the seminars and book presentations at two intellectual clubs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

"Book tours" are a familiar concept in the publishing world but are still relatively new in Vietnam. A "book tour" is understood as a series of activities undertaken by an author or translator at various locations to introduce their work. One of the most active book tour organizers today is Times Books, a scientific and educational publishing company.
This unit launched its "Book tour" with a presentation of the publication "Lifelong Learning" in October 2023. This was followed by publications such as "Semiconductor Battlefield," "Your Intuition and Creative Innateity," and "Five Continents - Italian Cultural Identity."
Notably, this includes the publication "Conversations with Gen Z" by author Tran Si Chuong, which featured over 20 "Book tour" events in Hanoi, Hue, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, and other locations, reaching tens of thousands of young people.
Reaching a large readership that perfectly matches the target audience, "Book tours" are considered an effective tool for increasing circulation. According to Mr. Vu Trong Dai, Director of Times Books, "Lifelong Learning" has been reprinted five times, and "Conversations with Gen Z" has been reprinted three times. "Although effective, we only organize 'Book tours' for books that have a positive impact on society," Mr. Vu Trong Dai stated.
Giving opportunities to readers who live far away.
In late October, the "Book tour" of writer Camille Laurens, a member of the Goncourt Academy (France), attracted considerable attention in the Vietnamese publishing industry. During this time, author Camille Laurens participated in seminars, meetings, and interactions with readers in Hanoi, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City.
“Knowing that Vietnamese readers have embraced, read, and delved so deeply into my work is a huge encouragement. I was also quite surprised by the questions people asked me. Especially since I am interested in Vietnam, I asked them questions in return, so that after the ‘Book tour’ ends, I will research and learn more about Vietnamese literature. I will definitely use my experiences in Vietnam for my future works,” shared author Camille Laurens.
For many readers, meeting their favorite author, especially if that author is from abroad, is a precious opportunity. Attending a meet-and-greet with author Camille Laurens in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan (residing in Cho Quan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) brought all of the author's works published in Vietnam to get autographs.
“I’ve read all of Camille Laurens’ works published in Vietnam. There are so many things I wanted to ask the author, but I kept thinking I’d have to keep them to myself. I never expected to have the opportunity to discuss them with the author herself today. This is truly a memorable and inspiring experience for me and other writers about the power of words,” said Nguyen Anh Tuan.
According to Mr. Vu Trong Dai, previously, most readers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City had the opportunity to meet and interact with authors and translators. Now, through "Book tours," authors, translators, and their books reach many different provinces and cities. Readers in local areas, especially those outside the city center, not only gain a better understanding of the book but also have the opportunity to learn and expand their knowledge through direct interaction and exchange with authors and translators.
“Normally, it’s very difficult for readers to attend programs with famous experts, and sometimes they even have to pay a considerable fee. But now, they benefit greatly from attending ‘Book Tour’ programs, where it’s not limited to books, but many issues of interest to readers are also enthusiastically shared by experts. This is a huge value that is difficult to measure in monetary terms,” shared Vu Trong Dai, Director of Times Books.
