Việt NamViệt Nam26/01/2025

On the days leading up to Lunar New Year, markets, flower shops, and the spring flower market area in Tuy Hoa City are busier than ever as people gather to buy flowers to decorate for Tet.

Yellow chrysanthemums displayed on Tran Phu Street (Tuy Hoa City) are viewed and purchased by many people.

On the 27th day of the 12th lunar month, the spring flower market area was crowded with buyers and sellers, who were also busy tending to their fresh flower pots. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chien, the owner of a garden specializing in growing chrysanthemums, kumquats, and apricots in Binh Kien commune (Tuy Hoa city) shared: Unlike previous years when many traders from the South and the North came to Phu Yen to buy flowers, this year the gardeners mainly focused on local customers. In addition, many types of flowers from other places were also imported to serve the diverse needs of the Phu Yen market.

Many people like the foreign rose stall (on Nguyen Trai street) of Ms. Le Thi Minh Phuong (Hoa An commune, Phu Hoa district).

Transporting 1,000 pots of imported roses from Gia Lai to display at 3 locations at the spring flower market, Ms. Le Thi Minh Phuong (Hoa An commune, Phu Hoa district) said: This year I sold more flowers than last year even though the price of imported roses is quite high, from 400,000 to 6 million VND/pot.

Mini pots of chrysanthemums with a variety of bright colors are popular with many people.

Adding to the diversity of species at this year's spring flower market, northern peach blossoms are displayed in large numbers. Mr. Le Dinh Bay (in Hai Duong ) shared: I have been importing northern peach blossoms to the Phu Yen flower market for three years. Phu Yen people are very fond of peach blossoms, I hope the flowers I import will be sold out early like every year.

Bright purple chrysanthemums displayed on Dien Bien Phu Street (Tuy Hoa City) also attracted many people to see and buy flowers.

Along with the colors of peach blossoms, chrysanthemums, apricot blossoms, and kumquats as above, this year's fresh flower market also cannot lack bougainvillea, dahlias, chrysanthemums, azaleas, etc. Prices of some popular flowers at this year's spring flower market are as follows:

Large yellow chrysanthemum: 250,000 - 1.2 million VND/pot;

Raspberry chrysanthemum: 200,000-500,000 VND/pot;

Kumquat: 300,000-1 million VND/pot;

Yellow apricot: 500,000-7 million VND/pot;

Five-color paper flowers: 600,000-2 million VND/pot;

Chrysanthemum: 100,000-200,000 VND/pot;

Lily (3 plants): 110,000-150,000 VND/pot;

Camellia: 450,000 VND/pot;

Rhododendron (small pot): 500,000 VND/pot;

Camellia: 160,000 VND/pot…

Many families choose mini flower pots to hang or put on the table.

According to many people, the price of fresh flowers this year is suitable for many people's budgets. Fresh flowers in flower shops or stalls at spring flower markets are also rich in variety, so families can afford to buy flowers to display during Tet.

Many people choose to buy peaches from the North.

According to Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, the spring flower market of At Ty year has more than 800 lots displaying and trading Tet flowers and ornamental plants; 29 lots displaying handicrafts and OCOP products. The flower market is divided into areas according to types of flowers and ornamental plants located on Tran Phu, Nguyen Trai, Dien Bien Phu streets, and the Ho Son regulating lake area. The spring flower market is an annual activity of Tuy Hoa City, helping artisans, flower growers and ornamental plant services exchange and learn cultivation techniques, contributing to increasing value and creating income for flower growers.
