Bustling flower and gift market on November 20

In the days approaching November 20, all the streets in Da Nang city are lit up with the color of gratitude. On streets such as Ton Duc Thang, Dong Da, Hai Phong, Ong Ich Khiem... streams of people stop by flower shops, carefully choosing each bouquet, each basket as if to send their feelings to teachers.

Choosing to buy a fresh flower basket to send to her old teacher, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Khanh (Hai Chau ward) shared: "Every time Vietnam Teachers' Day comes on November 20, I personally choose a very solemn flower basket to give to my Math teacher, the person who has devoted so much effort to guiding and instilling in me a passion for letters and numbers. According to records, this year's fresh flower market is particularly rich in designs and colors. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hai, owner of a flower shop on Ton Duc Thang Street, said: “This year, the prices of many imported flowers have nearly doubled compared to normal days, and domestic flowers have also increased by about 20%. Due to the impact of floods, the amount of flowers from the North and Da Lat has decreased, causing import prices to be 30-40% higher than before. However, customer demand is still high.”

In addition to fresh flowers, the November 20 gift market also sees the rise of artistic flower products such as wax flowers, silk flowers, and emulsion flowers. The selling price fluctuates with a fairly large amplitude, from 30-200 thousand VND, suitable for the budget of students, especially parents who want a beautiful but cost-saving gift.

In addition to flowers and souvenirs, fruit baskets, cakes and especially personal care gifts are also popular with consumers. Many cosmetic stores said that gift sets including shampoo, shower gel, lipstick, lotion... are elegantly packaged with prices ranging from 150,000 to 500,000 VND, suitable as gifts for teachers. These gift sets are considered practical, easy to use and suitable for many ages of teachers.
