Vụn Art, a social enterprise, has launched the "Portraits from Silk Scraps" project to mobilize community contributions to improve working conditions for disabled artisans at the company. Accordingly, each person can send portraits of themselves or their friends to Vụn Art to be transformed into silk collage paintings. These silk portraits use scraps of Ha Dong silk, designed and created by the disabled artisans at Vụn Art.

Vụn Art stated that the income from this project will be used to improve working conditions for people with disabilities at the facility. Vụn Art will build a new workshop, upgrade the interior, and equip it with additional support equipment. At this "new home," Vụn Art also plans to open a cozy tea and coffee shop to serve visitors and tourists, with the hope of creating new sustainable livelihoods for other people with disabilities.
Previously, Vụn Art was renowned for its vibrant portraits of many famous people such as musician Trịnh Công Sơn, Zen master Thích Nhất Hạnh; politicians such as the late Prime Minister Võ Văn Kiệt, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà; and artists such as singer Mỹ Tâm, Miss H'Hen Niê… In 2019, Vụn Art was recognized by UNESCO as a sustainable creative model, both innovative in culture and product development of the Vạn Phúc craft village, and sustainable in employment for disadvantaged groups.
According to the plan, starting from June 27th, the portraits produced by Vụn Art in this project (with the client's consent) will be displayed at the Hanoi Museum, before Vụn Art respectfully returns the portraits to their owners.
