Charity Buses

During the days of severe flooding, the people of the flooded areas of Dak Lak were supported by compassionate convoys of vehicles. These vehicles not only carried relief supplies but also carried faith, hope, a spirit of mutual support, and a sense of brotherhood.

Among the vehicles carrying rice, necessities, clothes, blankets, etc., from officials and residents of Buon Ho ward heading east towards the province, there was a very special and meaningful gift from 12 families of ethnic minority students at Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School (Buon Ho ward).

What touched and impressed everyone the most was that these families, despite their own difficult circumstances and having children receiving government assistance, showed a spirit of mutual support by allocating a portion of their children's assistance for four months (15 kg of rice per month per child) to share with their fellow citizens in need.

Therefore, it's not just about the 720 kg of rice, but also about love, a lesson in compassion and perseverance, and the most inspiring act of all.

Similarly, Ms. Do Thi Hoa (from Hanoi ) and her group of friends traveled a long distance to deliver blankets, mats, and other essential items directly to the people of Hoa Thinh commune.

Ms. Hoa said emotionally, “Seeing the losses suffered by our fellow villagers through various information channels has deeply saddened us. Everyone has their own work, but we all put it aside to bring a little something to help them. We all contributed what we could, each person donating a month's salary to fund the trip. Besides essential supplies, we also provided some money, hoping that it would give them more resources to rebuild their lives.”

Those simple words spoke volumes about the heartfelt compassion of hundreds of people who braved long distances and stormy weather, hoping to arrive in time for their compatriots' greatest need. Some journeys took place after dark, on slippery roads, but no one faltered. More than anyone else, they understood that every hour of delay meant more hardship for the flood victims. It is from these simple acts that the spirit of "mutual support" is clearly, enduringly, and profoundly ignited. For the flood victims, the presence of these compassionate relief efforts is not just about aid, but a great source of comfort, a feeling of being protected and supported in their time of need.

Besides food and household supplies, many trucks also carried livestock such as chickens, ducks, and cows, as well as rice seeds, vegetable seeds, and fertilizers… bringing with them the hope of a more prosperous tomorrow. Mr. Nguyen Van Tin, a resident of Tuy Hoa ward, expressed: “We are very happy. We never expected to receive support with rice seeds after the flood. For my family, this is a source of hope to start over, to build a new life.”

Organizing these charitable transport trips is thanks to the collective efforts of the entire community. This includes businesses willingly allocating funds; organizations and groups mobilizing donations of individual gifts; citizens contributing bags of rice and boxes of instant noodles; and drivers who, undeterred by long and treacherous journeys, volunteer to drive goods to flood-affected areas.

Beyond emergency relief, after the floodwaters receded, many relief teams continued to stay and assist with environmental sanitation, repairing houses and schools, and restoring livelihoods for the people. Bags of cement, tools, and even seedlings were delivered with the hope of helping people stabilize their lives as soon as possible. This solidarity shows that relief is not just about "giving," but also about accompanying the people on their journey after the natural disaster.

To ensure that the relief supplies reached the right place at the right time, the local authorities coordinated diligently. As soon as the floodwaters receded, the Hoa Xuan Commune People's Committee, in coordination with various organizations, assessed the damage, compiled a list of severely affected households, and deployed personnel to receive, guide, and distribute relief supplies promptly and transparently. As a result, each relief convoy was quickly connected to the people in need, avoiding overlaps and omissions.

Chairman of Hoa Xuan Commune People's Committee, Hoang Anh Tuan, emotionally stated: "The support from charitable groups not only helps people overcome immediate difficulties but also provides great moral encouragement in the process of recovering from the flood. The commune will continue to closely coordinate with all levels, sectors, and support groups to prioritize practical and long-term needs such as livestock, production materials, and assistance in repairing houses, helping people to stabilize their lives as soon as possible."

As of December 5th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province had received over 257.5 billion VND and 2,605 tons of goods, along with 18,050 gift packages worth 65.2 billion VND to support the people in the province in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
