Apple has officially unveiled the "quartet" of iPhone 17 models: iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, featuring significant upgrades in both performance and design.
The iPhone 17 Series is not just a regular upgrade, but a significant leap forward in slim and lightweight design, groundbreaking performance, improved camera systems, and next-generation connectivity.
The introduction of the iPhone Air also represents an effort to explore the demand for ultra-thin designs, while the iPhone Pro/Pro Max remains geared towards professional users. Together, they contribute to creating Apple's most comprehensive new generation of iPhones to date.
The iPhone 17 features a 120Hz display.

Although the iPhone 17's appearance hasn't changed compared to its predecessor, it boasts significant upgrades in specifications.
The iPhone 17 retains the familiar design with a vertical dual-camera setup, but the display has been upgraded to a 6.3-inch OLED screen with thinner bezels, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate (ProMotion) and a maximum brightness of 3000 nits. This screen also supports always-on mode to display the lock screen in a dimmed state.
The new anti-reflective coating makes the screen easier to read in bright light conditions both indoors and outdoors. The new Ceramic Shield 2 protective glass also makes this phone more resistant to drops and impacts. The iPhone 17 continues to have IP68 water and dust resistance.
The rear camera system remains the same with a 48 MP main sensor and a 12 MP telephoto lens, but the front camera has been upgraded to 24 MP.
Notably, this year Apple has upgraded the selfie camera to a square sensor that's twice the size of the previous generation, resulting in sharper photos from any angle without needing to rotate the phone horizontally. Additionally, AI can automatically widen the angle for group shots.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 is equipped with an A19 chip along with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of internal storage. The A19 chip has a six-core CPU design. Apple also stated that GPU performance has been upgraded to be 20% faster than the A18 chip in last year's iPhone 16.

Apple hasn't officially announced the battery capacity of the iPhone 17, but it's expected to remain at 3600 mAh, the same as the iPhone 16, with extended battery life thanks to ProMotion. Apple also emphasizes that when watching videos , the ProMotion display allows the iPhone 17 to play videos continuously for up to 8 hours on a single charge. Charging speed is improved, reaching 50% battery in 20 minutes. Apple also promises at least six years of iOS support along with additional security patches.
The iPhone 17 comes in five color options: Lavender, Mist Blue, Sage, Black, and White, with a minimum storage of 256 GB. In Vietnam, the iPhone 17 is available in two storage versions: 256 GB and 512 GB, with expected prices starting from 24.99 million VND (256 GB, 512 GB). Notably, this year Apple has completely eliminated the 128 GB option from all models.
iPhone Air - The thinnest iPhone in history.

Apple officially announced the iPhone Air, marking a major turning point in the company's product strategy. This is the thinnest iPhone ever, measuring just 5.6 mm thick and weighing 145 grams. Apple also claims it's the most durable iPhone design, thanks to a titanium frame sandwiched between Ceramic Shield on both sides.
The iPhone Air features a 6.5-inch ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, and Always-on Display support. It runs on the most powerful A19 Pro chip currently available, along with a C1x modem that's twice as fast as the previous generation and an N1 chip supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.
Despite its ultra-slim design, Apple claims the iPhone Air still delivers "all-day" battery life with up to 40 hours of continuous video playback. To optimize battery life, Apple removed the physical SIM slot, supporting only eSIM. iOS 26 also adds an adaptive power saving mode.

The iPhone Air's camera system has been streamlined, featuring a single 48MP rear camera with a 12MP telephoto lens and an 18MP selfie camera with Center Stage on the front. A new feature of the iPhone Air is the ability to combine the front and rear cameras, supporting simultaneous recording of both the user and the scene in front. The iPhone Air will be available in four colors: Space Black, Cloud White, Light Yellow, and Light Blue.
The product starts at 31.99 million VND for the 256GB version, pre-orders open today, and it will officially go on sale from September 19th.
The iPhone 17 Pro duo - For the first time, iPhone prices reach 64 million VND.

While the iPhone Air model attracted much attention thanks to its ultra-thin design, as usual, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max also garnered significant user interest.
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have been completely redesigned with a brand new look and a host of powerful improvements in performance, camera, and battery life.
These two models are equipped with the A19 Pro chip – Apple's most powerful and energy-efficient processor to date – along with a vapor chamber cooling system integrated into the unibody aluminum frame, helping to maintain high performance over extended periods.

The Super Retina XDR display comes in two sizes, 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, with a maximum outdoor brightness of up to 3,000 nits, 1.5 times brighter than last year's iPhone 16 Pro models. The iPhone 17 Pro models also feature Ceramic Shield 2 coating on both the front and back, offering three times the scratch resistance and better shatter resistance compared to the previous generation.
The most noticeable change this year is the significant redesign of the rear camera module on the iPhone. The rear camera module will now stretch across the entire width of the device, instead of being a single square module in one corner as in the iPhone 11 generation.
Apple claims this is the best camera system ever on an iPhone. The iPhone 17 Pro features three 48MP Fusion sensors, including a main lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a next-generation telephoto lens.
This camera system offers an experience equivalent to eight professional lenses, with the telephoto lens supporting up to 8x optical zoom at a focal length of 200mm – the highest level ever on an iPhone.
Additionally, the 18MP front camera with Center Stage feature has been upgraded to support portrait photos, group selfies, and 4K HDR video recording with improved image stabilization.
In addition, the iPhone 17 Pro is the first to support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread thanks to Apple's own N1 connectivity chip.
In terms of video recording, the iPhone 17 Pro is the first smartphone to support ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and genlock – a professional multi-camera video synchronization feature. These are tools that benefit filmmakers and content creators.
Apple also confirmed that the iPhone 17 Pro Max has the largest battery ever on an iPhone, although the exact figure has not been released.

The iPhone 17 Pro also marks Apple's expansion of eSIM-only models, with larger battery capacity thanks to the removal of the physical SIM slot. However, according to several sources, the Vietnamese market still sells versions with a physical SIM.
The device runs iOS 26 with the new Liquid Glass interface and a range of Apple Intelligence features, including live translation and AI tools for processing images and text directly on the device.
This year, Apple has also boldly removed many color options from the previous generation of iPhone Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro models will come in three colors: silver, blue, and a rather eye-catching orange. The iPhone 17 Pro line is more expensive than the 2024 generation, but in return, Apple has increased the default storage capacity to 256GB.
The iPhone 17 Pro starts at 34.99 million VND for the 256GB version, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at 37.99 million VND and supports storage options up to 2TB. Notably, the price for the 2TB iPhone 17 Pro Max reaches 64 million VND, the highest ever.
Users can pre-order from September 12th and receive their orders from September 19th in many countries, including Vietnam.
