However, the biggest barrier for individual users is the cost, as flexible robot models can cost tens, or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Last October, Noetix Robotics, a Beijing-based startup, surprised everyone by launching the humanoid robot Bumi at a price of just 9,998 yuan (approximately 37.3 million VND), equivalent to the price of an iPhone 17 Pro Max in China. This price point has opened up opportunities for more people to own a humanoid robot.
Just two months after its launch, the first Bumi robots have been delivered to customers. Noetix Robotics reported receiving 100 orders in the first hour and over 500 orders after two days of sales.
Bumi has a compact design, standing 94cm tall and weighing 12kg thanks to the use of lightweight composite materials, making it easy for users to move around. The robot is equipped with a battery that allows it to operate continuously for up to 2 hours.
Despite its low cost, Bumi possesses the ability to maintain balance and move flexibly on two legs, even performing dance moves. Bumi's face incorporates cameras to record and interact with its surroundings.
However, Bumi doesn't have hands with fingers like humans, and therefore lacks the ability to grasp.

Noetix Robotics positions Bumi not as a household robot, but as an entertainment and educational device for the home. With its open-source platform, Bumi allows students to program it to perform tasks or use it as a model to illustrate robotic joint movement.
Currently, Noetix Robotics operates two robot manufacturing plants in Beijing and Changzhou. However, due to increasing market demand, the company plans to open a new plant to achieve a production capacity of 1,000 Bumi robots per month.
The arrival of Bumi is expected to create a new wave in the global robotics market, opening up a segment of affordable humanoid robots, making it easier for users to access and own intelligent robot models at more reasonable prices.
