Van Mieu Reservoir Park (Vo Cuong Ward) covers an area of 30.15 hectares, planned with modern architecture and open spaces, integrating functions of water regulation, air conditioning, and recreation. With a system of 3 reservoirs and more than 1,000 trees including osaka, cassia fistula, and red willow, the park contributes to creating an urban ecological landscape.
In addition, the park is fully equipped with fitness equipment suitable for all ages. Opened in 2017, the park has become a popular location for outdoor sports activities. For many years, Mr. Bach Van Duc, from Kinh Bac ward, has maintained the habit of jogging around the Van Mieu regulating lake because of its spacious, airy environment, with a lake combined with greenery.

Similarly, Nguyen Phi Y Lan Park, located between Phu Dong Thien Vuong and Nguyen Phi Y Lan streets (Kinh Bac ward), boasts a perpetually green space with a lake, evergreen trees, stone benches for resting, and areas for cultural and sporting events. At the center of the park stands a statue of King Ly Thai To holding the "Decree on Relocating the Capital," facing Thang Long - Hanoi . This is a popular venue for events such as art performances and fireworks displays on the eve of the Lunar New Year.
Over the years, Bac Ninh province has focused on planning a system of parks and green spaces based on the area's population, forming a connected urban network with tree-lined streets. This creates spaces for recreation, entertainment, and sports activities, while also contributing to improving the living environment, reducing noise, absorbing CO₂, providing oxygen, creating green architecture, and enhancing the quality of life.
Recognizing the importance of "green lungs" for urban areas, alongside the role of functional units, citizens also join hands in protecting and caring for parks, raising awareness of maintaining public hygiene, and protecting public property. It's worth remembering that in 2024, Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3) swept through, causing significant damage to the northern region, with many trees in the province's parks broken and fallen. Immediately after the storm subsided, functional forces and citizens promptly worked together to clean up the scene and mitigate the consequences of the natural disaster. Just a few months later, the green spaces of the parks were quickly restored, creating a green and clean environment.
The province's urbanization rate is increasing rapidly. Paying attention to planning and constructing parks and green spaces is essential to create more "green lungs" in urban areas, effectively contributing to reducing environmental pollution and improving the quality of life for residents.
