Days of gratitude at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery
On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), thousands of people, relatives of martyrs and tourists from all over the world came to the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery to offer flowers and incense to express their gratitude and respect to the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the noble international mission.

The Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery is located in Anh Son commune, Nghe An province, and is the resting place of nearly 11,000 officers, volunteer soldiers and military experts who died on the Lao battlefield. Here, on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27), the annual "Drinking Water, Remembering Its Source" Festival takes place, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the country to make a pilgrimage to pay tribute to and commemorate the heroes and martyrs. This is also an opportunity to educate the younger generation about tradition, family, homeland and the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source". From there, it encourages the spirit of overcoming difficulties, rising up, contributing to the construction of the homeland and the country. Mr. Thang said: "Every year, on the occasion of Lunar New Year and the anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, our family comes here to offer incense and make offerings at the grave of Mr. Vo Viet Hong. My brother rests here, next to his comrades, with thoughtful care and incense, our family truly feels at peace."
