According to Petrovietnam , in the context of a rapidly changing world, increasingly fierce energy competition, profound energy transition, and growing demands for national energy security, the role of a CEO is not simply about corporate governance in the traditional sense.
That is the role of a "conductor" coordinating the large-scale industrial-energy ecosystem; a "locomotive" leading the Petrovietnam ship to adapt, break through, and create new development momentum.

The corporation is currently facing several major challenges simultaneously, and this is also a test for Mr. Le Manh Cuong.
These include the need to increase reserves and production in the context of natural depletion of traditional gas fields; the pressure to ensure gas supply for electricity and industry; the need to invest in large-scale energy projects with increasingly advanced technology; the pressure of competition in the open energy market; and the need for deeper participation in the energy transition process, green growth, and towards emission reduction targets.
These tasks require CEOs to not only be skilled in business management, but also to possess the leadership qualities needed in a volatile and high-pressure environment.
One of the biggest requirements for Petrovietnam today is to enhance its strategic implementation capacity. From major orientations on gas industry development, expanding the LNG-gas power chain, investing in renewable energy, developing petrochemicals, high-quality technical services, to building integrated energy centers... all need to be translated into concrete action programs with timelines, resources, and tangible results.
From another perspective, Petrovietnam must also fulfill a core role in the economy by making significant contributions to the state budget, ensuring energy security and economic security, and participating in strategic tasks at sea.
These tasks require CEOs to not only be skilled in business management, but also to possess the leadership qualities needed in a volatile and high-pressure environment.
