Poems that accompany youth

Throughout his life of revolutionary activities, Uncle Ho always cared and had deep affection for generations of young people. He devoted much of his heart to organizing and leading young generations to the revolution. In 1951, right after the 2nd National Party Congress, from Dinh Hoa Safe Zone, Uncle Ho inspected the repair of the Thai Nguyen - Cao Bang road, visited the Youth Volunteer force, transport units and warehouses along National Highway 3. On the afternoon of March 30, 1951, when visiting the Youth Volunteer Unit 312, here Uncle read a 4-line poem: "Nothing is difficult/Only fear of not being steadfast/Digging mountains and filling seas/Determination will make it happen".

After Uncle Ho finished reading, everyone repeated it in unison, the sound of the poem resounding through the mountains and forests. Those verses became a great source of encouragement, a call to arms for the youth with the determination to build and defend the Fatherland. He believed that the youth must always improve their spirit, determination, and forge a strong character to realize their great aspirations, dreams, and ambitions.

Also with the inspiration to encourage and motivate the will and determination of young people, To Huu has many outstanding works. To Huu's first poems were written in "blood and fire", shackles and "chains" creating a great influence on many social classes, especially the youth.

In the song A Spring Song by To Huu, he shared: “If I were a bird or a leaf/The bird must sing, the leaf must be green/How could I borrow without paying back/To live is to give, not just to receive for myself” (A Spring Song).

The poem with a gentle tone, rich in narrative, brings readers many emotions and thoughts. Poet To Huu uses two entities, the leaf and the bird's voice, to illustrate his concept. Nature has created birds and given them wonderful singing voices, which means that birds must sing and similarly, leaves must be green. And what must we do for society and the Fatherland? Especially what must the young generation do to not be ashamed of the title of the country's pillars? That is, we must always strive to respond to the merits and expectations of our families, schools and society; be ready to contribute and sacrifice ourselves to protect and build a peaceful and prosperous homeland and country.

Also with the message of youth dedication, author Thanh Hai sends to readers with a passionate, whispering poetic voice through the work "Little Spring". From the emotions about spring, the author naturally transformed the poem to express his thoughts and feelings about the reason for living, the meaning and value of each person's life: "I am a singing bird/I am a flower branch/I join the chorus/A stirring low note".

Be a “singing bird” among thousands of innocent bird calls, contribute joyful chirping, be “a flower branch” in the brilliant spring garden, be “a low note” in the symphony of many melodies, be “a small spring” contributing to the great spring of the country, of the common life. Each person should be a spring, bring all the good and quintessential things to contribute. And the message that the poet wants to send to today’s and future generations is: “Quietly dedicate to life/Even at the age of twenty/Even when hair turns gray”.

We always keep our pride in living in the S-shaped land - where there are heroes and soldiers who did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives to protect the country. We are proud of our heroic history, the Vietnamese people are hard-working, patient, and united. All of that is the support for each young person to move forward: "Oh, young people, keep moving forward/Regardless of difficulties because of the beliefs you have chosen/Love for the homeland, love for the country is boundless/It is the effort, the strength, the support for the future" (Aspiration in me).

Also carrying the narrative line, sending to the young generation, veteran poet Nguyen Kim Thanh expressed his emotions through the poem: "Charming talent". That is the voice of a person who has gone through nearly a decade with the ups and downs of life, sending a message that: The young generation is a priceless time and brings many meaningful experiences, so dare to live, dare to strive, and dedicate yourself. The poem is a song of aspiration, a message from a father, a grandfather to his children and grandchildren to always know how to train themselves to become talented and virtuous people, contributing to building a prosperous and prosperous country: "The red flag of beloved schools/Our country turns to a new page of history/Bringing virtue and talent to open up the country/Vowing to do our best to be worthy of our ancestors/Responsibility, faith holds the future".

Youth is the most beautiful time of one's life, a priceless gift that life gives.
