Beyond the efforts of the business community, Vietnam is also strongly committed to the world regarding green transformation, emission reduction, and aiming for net zero by 2050.

The company is making an effort.

Green Ecosystem Production and Trading Co., Ltd. (located in Long Binh ward) is currently applying water-based coating technology to replace traditional plastic coatings on paper packaging. This opens up prospects for improving packaging recycling capabilities, contributing to the development of green materials and the circular economy .

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Cuong, the company's director, the market is gradually shifting towards using paper products instead of plastic to protect the environment. However, current paper products are not 100% environmentally friendly. Most of these products are coated with polyethylene plastic. This material makes paper almost impossible to recycle, turning it into non-biodegradable waste. Water-based coating technology, replacing polyethylene coating, is easily recyclable and environmentally friendly. During the recycling process, the water-based coating can dissolve or detach, preventing system blockages and allowing the paper to be reused multiple times.

Similarly, Binh Tien Consumer Goods Manufacturing Co., Ltd., with its Biti's footwear brand, has strictly applied ESG (environmental, social, and governance) and LEAN (lean manufacturing) standards in its production for many years. The company's goal is to create a better working environment for its workforce, minimize environmental impact, and produce higher-quality, sustainable products for customers. At its factory in the Amata Industrial Park, the company implements numerous green practices, including the use of recycled materials in design, waste reduction in production, energy-efficient production processes, the use of biodegradable packaging, and reduced environmental emissions.

By 2030, Dong Nai province aims to have at least 10% of businesses in industrial parks applying solutions for efficient resource utilization and cleaner production. 90% of industrial parks will have access to and apply solutions for energy saving and efficiency.

For example, GSB Steel Structure Joint Stock Company (in Tan Trieu ward) applies technology to use solar power for its factory and cooperates with foreign partners to build green factories for partners in industrial parks. According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Loc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, GSB has recently had a strategic partnership with a major partner from Australia to create buildings and factories that optimize energy use. This is in line with the future trend of construction as everyone aims for sustainable development.

Green production is a crucial element for sustainable development.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Truyen, a senior expert at the International Labour Organization (ILO), assessed: Green and environmentally friendly development is an inevitable trend in manufacturing industries today. Especially as Vietnam expands its export opportunities to highly developed countries, stringent environmental criteria will require businesses to adapt and transform, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese products and brands. Therefore, businesses need to set targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This aims to comply with environmental regulations, promote green development, and ultimately bring economic benefits and improve the company's image with partners and customers.

Similarly, according to Mr. Dinh Hong Ky, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association, the current market demands very high standards regarding issues such as carbon indices, traceability, environmental and social standards, ESG governance, and co-creation of value between producers and consumers. Green barriers are clearly emerging through stringent regulations such as the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the green standards soon to be adopted by the US and Japan in 2026-2027. Green transition is no longer a formal choice but has become a continuous and flexible adaptation system.

Dong Nai is a province with strong industrial development and is gradually transforming its industrial development model to include modern, high-tech industries. The province's policy is to develop industry without sacrificing the environment. Accordingly, it prioritizes the thorough and efficient exploitation and use of renewable and clean energy sources; and prioritizes the use of energy-saving, efficient, and environmentally friendly practices. Adhering to this direction, Dong Nai is committed to achieving the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through a strong shift in its energy source structure.

In early 2026, the Provincial People's Committee also issued a plan to transform existing industrial parks into green, ecological industrial parks by 2030, with a vision to 2050. According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Kim Long, Dong Nai focuses on attracting strategic investors and new-generation investors; prioritizing high-tech industries, green industries, and supporting industries; and promoting industrial development in an environmentally friendly direction.
