How to say 'roof' in English?

"The 'roof of the house' often refers to the wife's role in the family. Do you know how to express this in English?

English has many idioms related to clothing or fashion accessories.

In a romantic relationship, whoever has more decision-making power is the one "wearing the pants" (to use an American expression).

A common idiom to describe someone feeling angry is "hot under the collar": Hearing people's comments on his work sometimes makes him hot under the collar.

When talking about an item of clothing that fits perfectly, we use "fit like a glove": The new shirt fits like a glove. It feels so comfortable! (The new shirt fits perfectly. It feels so comfortable!)

"A feather in your cap" means an achievement: Playing in the national team is such a feather in our cap (Playing in the national team is such an achievement for us).
