In the Hoan Kiem Lake area, including the headquarters of Hanoi Moi Newspaper at 44 Le Thai To (Hoan Kiem Ward), since yesterday afternoon, people from everywhere have been pouring in with national flags, red shirts, mats, and chairs along the sidewalks... almost staying up all night to wait to watch the parade and march to celebrate National Day taking place this morning.

In order to create favorable conditions for both locals and tourists, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has opened the entire first floor for people to stop and rest, use personal hygiene, drink water, charge their phones, etc. Among the hundreds of people from all over who have chosen Hanoi Moi Newspaper as a stopover, there are Mr. Pham Quang Thai and his wife, Ms. Trinh Thi Le Thuy, and their 5-month-old daughter, Pham Ha Anh.

Mr. Pham Quang Thai said that both he and his wife work at the 12th Army Corps in Ninh Binh Province. With the desire to witness the important moment of the country, he and his wife took a bus from Ninh Binh at 3:00 p.m. on September 1 to Hanoi. After getting off the bus at O Quan Chuong, the couple walked and rested and luckily found the headquarters of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper to stop.

“We planned to find a motel along the way, but there were almost no rooms left. We were very lucky and touched when Hanoi Moi Newspaper created a place for us to stay so that today the whole family had enough health to enjoy the atmosphere of Independence Day right in the heart of Hanoi,” said Mr. Pham Quang Thai excitedly.

Ms. Trinh Thi Le Thuy shared that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), she was honored to participate in the parade, marching after having just held her wedding for 3 months. “With the spirit of patriotism, no matter how difficult it was, we overcame all difficulties to be present in Hanoi on this important occasion. Coming to the capital this time, we have many special emotions and always hope that our country will develop more and more prosperously,” Ms. Trinh Thi Le Thuy expressed.

Present at Hoan Kiem Lake since last night, Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang, a third-year student of the Faculty of Accounting - Auditing (Hanoi University of Industry) and her friends chose the headquarters of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper to wait and watch the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2. Ms. Thu Trang and her friends wanted to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the great festival in the Hoan Kiem Lake area, which was crowded with people from all over. To get to this location, she and her friends had to park their motorbikes very far away and walk.

“We are very happy to be here at this sacred moment. Although the A80 program has many locations and streets, we want to combine watching the parade and walking around Hoan Kiem Lake to learn and explore the historical sites here. Last night, although all four of us did not sleep a wink, everyone was still very excited and eager to wait for the parade to pass through this area,” Ms. Thu Trang shared.

At Thanh Nien, Quan Thanh, Phan Dinh Phung streets..., the parade groups have gathered forces, vehicles, and equipment since 3am, ready to roll out and stride majestically on the historic Ba Dinh Square.

The atmosphere before the parade is also a convergence of national pride. People wear their best clothes, carry the national flag, and sing together songs that have been with us for many years. This is an opportunity for every Vietnamese person to express their love for the country and their gratitude to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.

Images of children being taken by their parents to watch the parade, old people in old military uniforms, or foreign tourists mingling with the crowd, all created a colorful picture, showing a Vietnam that loves peace, is friendly and full of pride.

Security and order work was carefully prepared, with detailed plans and close coordination between forces. Security and order work before, during and after the parade was always carried out at the highest level, contributing significantly to the overall success of the event and leaving a good impression of a safe, stable and developing Vietnam.

At the historic Ba Dinh Square, where 80 years ago, beloved President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, more than 40,000 officers, soldiers of the armed forces and people, representing more than 107 million soldiers and compatriots nationwide, gathered in full readiness for the celebration, parade, and march of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, considered the most magnificent ever. This is not only a political and social event, but also a great festival for all people.

The spirit of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 has been, is and will forever be the flame that lights up the path of national development.
