Farmers of the Ancestral Land compete in patriotic emulation

Deeply understanding the Party's viewpoint on patriotic emulation, the Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province have determined that emulation must be linked to the political tasks of the locality, to the practical interests of its members, and concretized through movements, tasks, and concrete results. Based on this, the Farmers' Associations at all levels have proactively advised the Party committees and closely coordinated with the government in leading and directing the implementation of emulation movements with a focus on key areas, strongly oriented towards the grassroots, and using effectiveness as the measure.

The pomelo farming model of farmer Le Ngoc Bac in Dong Mau area, Chi Dam commune, brings in nearly 300 million VND per year.

Comrade Ly Quang Dai – Deputy Head of the Farmers' Affairs Department, Provincial Farmers' Association, stated: Based on the guiding principle that "The key point of emulation is its substance. Through this, farmers increase their income, the Association is strengthened, and the trust of members in the Party is increasingly enhanced," the Provincial Farmers' Association continues to identify the movement "Farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" as a central, overarching movement that most clearly reflects the spirit of patriotic emulation among farmers.

The various levels of the Association have concretized the movement through many practical activities: mobilizing members to register for annual emulation campaigns, organizing training courses, transferring science and technology, supporting access to capital; guiding safe agricultural production; and connecting agricultural product markets. By 2025, 100% of the Association's branches will implement the movement; the entire province will have over 287,400 member households registering to strive for the title of excellent producers and businesses; over 187,200 households will achieve the title at various levels, reaching 141.8% of the target.

Patriotic emulation among farmers is also vividly demonstrated through the movement to participate in building new rural areas and implementing national target programs. Farmers' association members actively donate land, contribute labor, and contribute resources to build rural infrastructure; fulfill commitments to produce and trade safe agricultural products; participate in environmental protection and adaptation to climate change; and respond to health, education, social insurance, and health insurance programs. Through this, the leading role of farmers in building new rural areas is increasingly affirmed. Another important aspect demonstrating the spirit of patriotic emulation is the movement of farmers participating in the development of collective economic organizations and cooperatives. Implementing Decision No. 182/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, the Farmers' Association at all levels has focused on disseminating information, mobilizing, and guiding members to participate in cooperative groups and cooperatives associated with key products and OCOP products of each locality.

In 2025, the province established 80 new cooperative groups and 16 agricultural cooperatives, attracting 20,374 members; the Farmers' Support Fund grew by over 23.5 billion VND, reaching 197.2% of the target, creating an important resource for members to expand production and increase income .

Many exemplary farmers excelling in production and business have emerged, demonstrating the effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements. A prime example is the safe pomelo cultivation model of Mr. Le Ngoc Bac in Dong Mau area, Chi Dam commune. Recognizing the advantages of the land suitable for pomelo cultivation, Mr. Bac converted his entire area to safe pomelo cultivation, prioritizing quality as the core value, while simultaneously applying advanced farming techniques. Thanks to his perseverance and the support of the Chi Dam Commune Farmers' Association in advising on processes and connecting with markets, Mr. Bac has mastered the techniques, producing high-quality, uniformly sized, and attractive specialty pomelos. Currently, his orchard yields 50,000-70,000 fruits per year, maintaining stable prices, generating nearly 300 million VND per harvest, and creating jobs for local laborers. Not only has he enriched his own family, but Mr. Bac also shares his experience and supports association members in growing high-quality pomelos, contributing to the development of the local specialty pomelo growing region.

It can be affirmed that patriotic emulation within the Farmers' Association at all levels has been concretized through practical movements, clear tasks, and substantial, sustainable results. These achievements are not only accomplishments to celebrate the 14th Party Congress but also an important foundation for continuing to build a modern, resilient peasant class that actively contributes to the development of the country in the new era.
