On May 22nd, in Lam Dong province, the Department of Cooperative Economics and Rural Development, in collaboration with the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, organized a workshop titled "Promoting Investment in Research, Design, and Manufacturing of Machinery and Equipment for Agricultural Production."
Attending the workshop were Mr. Vu Van Tien - Deputy Director of the Department of Cooperative Economics and Rural Development, Mr. Le Quang Dan - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, along with representatives from research institutes, universities, mechanical engineering enterprises, agricultural cooperatives, credit institutions and localities.
According to Mr. Vu Van Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Cooperative Economics and Rural Development, mechanization is becoming an important driving force for the development of modern agriculture, helping to increase labor productivity, reduce production costs, and increase the value of agricultural products. Therefore, investing in research, design, and manufacturing of agricultural machinery not only meets immediate needs but also contributes to building a sustainable domestic agricultural machinery industry.
Many domestic businesses have proactively researched and manufactured various types of machinery for agricultural production. However, to meet the increasingly high demands of modern production, it is necessary to continue promoting technological innovation, improving product quality, and strengthening linkages between businesses and research institutions.

Based on local experience, Mr. Le Quang Dan, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, said that the demand for mechanization and automation in agricultural production in the province is growing. However, many types of machinery currently available are not suitable for small-scale farming, hilly terrain, and the lack of synchronized infrastructure in the fields.
"This is a requirement for researching and manufacturing compact, multi-functional agricultural machinery suitable for each ecological region and the actual production needs of farmers," Mr. Dan emphasized.
At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing trends in agricultural machinery development, market demand, and solutions to promote investment in the coming period. Many opinions suggested improving mechanisms to support research and technological innovation, and strengthening linkages between businesses, research institutes, universities, and localities in the research, manufacturing, and transfer of machinery and equipment for agricultural production.
According to the delegates, developing the agricultural machinery industry in a modern direction, suitable to domestic production conditions, will contribute to promoting synchronized mechanization, improving productivity and efficiency, and increasing the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products.
