Hau Sía Chu said: After a period of accumulating experience, the family realized that raising pigs is not difficult, but in order to have high economic efficiency, one must be diligent, work hard, "take the work to make a profit". In addition to cooking corn bran, vegetables and banana stems can be used as food; pay attention to keeping the barn clean, injecting vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease, African swine fever... The family raises an average of 15 meat pigs per litter, selling 2-3 litters per year. Each litter produces over 1 ton of live pigs. At the same time, maintaining 7 Golden cows, thanks to endemic genetic resources, the cows have a large body and high meat yield. In terms of output, traders often come to their homes, families also actively associate with a number of restaurants in Dong Van town to provide food.
Realizing that the locality has many natural mint trees, with a hard-working and inquisitive nature, Chu invests in beekeeping for honey. But when I started to do it, because I did not have much experience, the amount of honey was small, some bees were infected, and the productivity was low. Undeterred, Mr. Chu proactively met with commune agricultural extension officers and successful beekeepers to ask for technical advice on breeding and caring for them properly. Working while learning from experience, the bee colony has developed well. Currently, the family maintains 50 bee colonies, each harvest 120 liters of honey, earning nearly 50 million VND. To have a source of food for living and livestock, the family also grows 1,2 hectares of corn and makes wine, on average selling over 500 liters of corn wine each year to the market.
Thanks to his diligence and hard work, Hau Sía Chu's family has risen from a poor household to a well-off household in the area. Every year, after deducting investment costs, the family earns a profit of over VND 200 million and is recognized as a good farmer in production and business.
