
Dragon fruit fetches a good price during Tet (Lunar New Year).
As the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 approaches, the price of off-season dragon fruit in major growing regions across the country has increased significantly, bringing joy to farmers.
Currently, wholesalers are buying dragon fruit at 25,000 VND/kg, an increase of 5,000 VND compared to a month ago.
Durian prices in Dong Thap have risen again.
According to traders, durian prices in Dong Thap are currently high. Thai durian (Grade A) is being purchased directly from orchards at prices ranging from 125,000 to 128,000 VND/kg, while Ri 6 durian (Grade A) fluctuates between 70,000 and 75,000 VND/kg. At these prices, orchard owners are making a good profit, and the purchasing atmosphere is bustling ahead of Tet (Lunar New Year).
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Thap province, the province currently has nearly 35,500 hectares of durian orchards, with nearly 19,000 hectares bearing fruit. To date, the province has 350 export-oriented growing areas with a total area of approximately 15,000 hectares and 111 packaging facility codes. Of these, 90 growing areas are authorized for export by businesses; and 42 packaging facility codes are authorized for export.
Currently, China is the main import market for Vietnamese durian.
Pepper prices have risen sharply.
The pepper market in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) has seen vibrant buying activity, with prices rising across the board in most key growing regions in the Central Highlands and Southeast Vietnam, reaching new record highs in many areas.
In particular, Dak Lak province had a high purchase price, reaching 152,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 to 3,000 VND compared to yesterday, while other localities maintained stable prices around 149,000 to 151,000 VND/kg.
