On the evening of May 31, at Tran Huu Trang Opera House, opera fans cheered for the emotional return of the classic opera "The Love Story of Han Mac Tu" - an immortal work by the late composer, People's Artist Vien Chau.
This special performance, organized by Vu Luan Entertainment Company in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, directed by People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, left a deep impression in the hearts of music lovers.

The center of the play is Meritorious Artist Vu Luan in the role of Han Mac Tu - a heavy role in both singing and acting, requiring emotional depth and skillful performance techniques.
With a powerful voice and skillful breath control, Meritorious Artist Vu Luan fully expressed his emotions and left a beautiful mark on the life of a talented but ill-fated poet. In the immortal vọng cổ songs in the play, Meritorious Artist Vu Luan moved the audience to tears.
This is also the first time he has brought this work to the stage in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, opening up a new and creative approach while still keeping the original spirit intact.
Comedian Dung Nhi and Meritorious Artist Bao Tri create charming laughter in the play "The Love Story of Han Mac Tu"
In this version, director People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau has clarified the intertwined situations of the four girls for the poet Han Mac Tu. Each heart in love for the poet is likened to a moon, gently and softly entering the audience's mind through the director's storytelling.
Because, the content of the play "The Love Story of Han Mac Tu" has been staged many times before, but through the storytelling of director People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, the play is truly captivating, seamlessly connecting emotions so that the audience loves even more the art of character building of playwright People's Artist Vien Chau.
Artist Thuy Loan surprised everyone with her charming role as nurse Lan, alongside the mature performance of Nguyen Van Hop as doctor Tung.
Besides Meritorious Artist Vu Luan, the cast also contributed significantly to the success of the play. Faces such as: "Silver Bell of Traditional Opera" Vo Ngoc Quyen, "Golden Bell of Traditional Opera" Kim Luan, "Silver Bell of Traditional Opera" Nguyen Van Hop, HCV Bich Tram, Bien Thuy, Thuy Loan, Kim Tuyet all performed their roles perfectly, creating a harmonious and colorful stage.
The stage space becomes a misty memory, where poetry, music and love intertwine. The image of Han Mac Tu holding a pen to write poetry in the moonlight, despite his body being in pain, despite the tragedy of his life still smoldering – is a symbol of the art of overcoming physical pain to live with the soul.

In particular, the charming and unique appearances of two comedians Dung Nhi and Meritorious Artist Bao Tri in the roles of Mr. Tham Su and Mr. Phu brought charming comedy, helping to moderate the tragic part of the story, creating an interesting highlight for the entire play.
Regarding the music , musician Hua Son Ha has renewed the harmony and arrangement, bringing a modern breath to the traditional ancient music.
The orchestra conducted by musician Nguyen Hieu also contributed to pushing the audience's emotions to a climax in many key segments.
