Comrade Dao Duy Tung was born into a patriotic scholarly family in Co Loa commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city. The family tradition and the revolutionary traditions of his hometown, Co Loa, nurtured the noble qualities, intellect, and talent of this outstanding leader and ideologist of the Party.

After the August Revolution of 1945, Comrade Dao Duy Tung was admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party, becoming the first Party Branch Secretary of Co Loa commune. Throughout his revolutionary career, regardless of his position, Comrade Dao Duy Tung always demonstrated unwavering loyalty and dedication to the communist cause, a high-ranking leader with innovative thinking and a high level of intellectual vision, making significant contributions to the Party's revolutionary cause.
For many years, in his capacity as a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee, and Head of the Central Propaganda Department, he devoted his heart and mind to leading and directing activities related to summarizing practical experiences, conducting theoretical research, and building scientific arguments to contribute to the formation of the Party's platform and reform policies.

In his speech at the commemoration ceremony, Hanoi Party Secretary Dinh Tien Dung emphasized that Comrade Dao Duy Tung – a steadfast and dedicated communist soldier who devoted his entire life to the goals and ideals of the Party – is a shining example for cadres, Party members, and the people of Hanoi to emulate. The Hanoi Party Committee and people are immensely proud to have Comrade Dao Duy Tung, one of the outstanding sons of the heroic capital city with a thousand years of history and culture.
Hanoi Party Secretary Dinh Tien Dung affirmed: Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Party Committee, government, and people of Hanoi are proud of their revolutionary traditions and outstanding achievements in the cause of building and protecting the capital city. Since its liberation, for the past 70 years, Hanoi has continuously grown stronger, worthy of the trust and affection of the people nationwide. Learning from and emulating Comrade Dao Duy Tung, we pledge to forever follow the path chosen by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and our people; to excellently continue the glorious revolutionary cause of our predecessors and previous generations.
Speaking on behalf of the young generation of Hanoi at the commemoration ceremony, Chu Hoa Bao Tram, a student from the Foreign Trade University, expressed that although she only knew about Comrade Dao Duy Tung through his works and the reflections written by his friends, comrades, and colleagues, Bao Tram always held a special respect for him.

"Learning from and emulating the pure, honest, and courageous qualities of Comrade Dao Duy Tung, with the goal of building a new generation of youth who 'Cultivate a pure heart - Sharpen a bright mind - Build great aspirations,' we young people pledge to continuously cultivate virtue and talent; always be proactive, dedicated, and at the forefront of scientific research and creative work; actively participate in building a clean and strong Party and political system; and together with all levels, sectors, and society as a whole, create all conditions for every young person to have the opportunity and environment to train, contribute, and grow," Bao Tram said.
At the commemoration ceremony, delegates also enjoyed the artistic program "Dao Duy Tung - An honest leader, a reformist figure of the Party".
