New, streamlined One UI 7 interface
One UI 7 brings a new look with a simple, intuitive, and emotional design. The home and lock screens are streamlined, eliminating clutter for a seamless and focused experience. New One UI widgets and advanced customization options let users personalize the interface to their liking.
Now Bar: Samsung's 'Dynamic Island'?
One of the most notable highlights of One UI 7 is the Now Bar, a new notification system that is designed to “revolutionize the lock screen experience.” The Now Bar works similarly to Dynamic Island on the iPhone, displaying notifications and allowing quick interactions without unlocking the phone. However, this feature is only available on upcoming Galaxy S series devices, expected to be the Galaxy S25.
Enhanced AI (artificial intelligence) features
Galaxy AI continues to be upgraded with many new features. Writing Assist mode has been expanded to support many applications, helping users compose text more effectively. Meanwhile, Call Transcript mode now supports up to 20 languages, has the ability to automatically record call content and convert it into text.
Samsung is also committed to continuing to deeply integrate AI into One UI, providing a smart and personalized experience.
Redesigned camera app
The camera app on One UI 7 has been redesigned with a user-friendly interface, new controls, and a variety of shooting modes. Pro mode has also been improved, providing a professional shooting experience with easy-to-use manual controls and a new zoom speed control feature.
Enhanced security with Knox Matrix
One UI 7 integrates Knox Matrix, Samsung's advanced security system, to comprehensively protect user data. An intuitive dashboard allows users to easily check and manage the security status of their device.
Additionally, the new Identity Check feature also provides superior anti-theft protection, by requiring biometric authentication when a compromised PIN is detected.
How to join the beta program
Galaxy S24 users in supported countries can sign up for the One UI 7 beta program via the Samsung Members app. The final version of One UI 7 is expected to be released alongside the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025.
