Mr. Tran Anh Chung has been appointed Chairman of Thanh Hoa City.

This afternoon (September 25th), the Thanh Hoa City People's Council, 22nd term, 2021-2026, held its 10th session to consider and decide on several important issues regarding personnel work and public investment.

At the session, the City People's Council conducted the process of electing the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa City People's Committee for the 22nd term, 2021-2026.

Accordingly, Mr. Tran Anh Chung, Provincial Party Committee member and Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the Thanh Hoa City People's Committee with 100% of the votes.

It is known that Mr. Tran Anh Chung (born in 1974) is from Vinh Hoa commune, Vinh Loc district, Thanh Hoa province.

Mr. Chung graduated from the University of Finance, holds a Master's degree in Economics, and has advanced qualifications in Political Theory.

He previously held positions as Head of the Finance Department, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, and then Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Son District.

In May 2019, Mr. Chung was transferred by the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Quang Xuong District Party Committee, and nominated for election by the District People's Council as Chairman of the Quang Xuong District People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term. Subsequently, Mr. Chung served as Secretary of the Quang Xuong District Party Committee.

Recently, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Standing Committee's decisions on personnel matters. Accordingly, 13 officials were transferred or rotated to key positions.

Mr. Tran Anh Chung, Provincial Party Committee member, has resigned from the Executive Committee and Standing Committee, and relinquished his position as Secretary of the Quang Xuong District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. He has been appointed to the Executive Committee and Standing Committee and to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; and has been nominated for election by the Thanh Hoa City People's Council to the position of Chairman of the Thanh Hoa City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
