On the afternoon of May 12, Ha Giang Provincial Police announced that they had dismantled a gambling ring and gambling in the form of football betting via the Internet, with a scale of over 120 billion VND, and temporarily detained 5 subjects.

The subjects in the above mentioned ring are all in Ha Giang, including: Dang Anh Tuan (born in 1988, in Ha Giang city), Dinh Ngoc Tuyen (born in 1991, in Vi Xuyen district), Nong Viet Dung (born in 2000), Nguyen Anh Tuan (born in 1985) and Nong Ngoc Thanh (born in 1986), all in Bac Me district.

Police searched the suspects' residence and seized 6 mobile phones, a computer, 2 wifi transmitters, a fiber optic network device, 25 envelopes containing many citizen identification cards, loan papers and over 30 million VND...

Police determined that this was a large-scale gambling ring in the province, with extremely sophisticated and complex methods of operation, in the form of football betting via the Internet through major football tournaments such as the C1 Cup, English Premier League, Spain... especially the 32nd SEA Games taking place in Cambodia.

Initially, the investigation agency determined the amount of money the subjects transacted for gambling from June 2022 to present, estimated at over 120 billion VND.
