During the peak hot months (April, May, June, July), the province has set a target of saving at least 10% of electricity consumption.
To effectively implement the electricity saving plan, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with Thai Nguyen Power Company to synchronously implement electricity demand management, load shifting, and load adjustment programs; based on the forecast of Pmax and Pmin loads of the entire province, striving to reduce at least 70MW of load capacity during peak hours of the power system when there is a risk of supply-demand imbalance.
Furthermore, Thai Nguyen province has set a target of having approximately 10% of government agencies and 10% of households install and use rooftop solar power for self-production and self-consumption annually; or striving to achieve a total development capacity of 20% of the installed rooftop solar power capacity in the province's rooftop solar power development plan for the period 2026-2030.
The Provincial People's Committee directs departments, agencies, the People's Committees of communes and wards, and energy-consuming establishments to proactively develop and implement rooftop solar power development plans in accordance with actual conditions. Along with this, they are to promote the development of self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power, prioritizing installation at government offices, production, business, and service establishments, and households; encourage the installation of integrated energy storage systems to reduce peak-hour load and increase self-sufficiency in local power sources; and reduce power loss in the province to below 4%.
