Authorities discovered over 14 tons of pig skin of unknown origin.

At noon on May 11th, Mr. Dinh Khanh Toan, Head of the Market Management Department of Thanh Hoa province, stated that authorities had just discovered over 14 tons of pig skins without documentation proving their origin. The case is being further investigated and processed according to regulations.

Authorities inspect goods at the warehouse.

According to initial information, on May 10th, Team 9 of the Market Management Department of Thanh Hoa province, in coordination with the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, inspected two warehouses in Nguyet Vien ward, Thanh Hoa province.

The two warehouses inspected included the warehouse of business owner NTH and the warehouse of business owner NMT.

Quantity of goods in the warehouse

Upon inspection, authorities discovered over 14 tons of food products, including raw pork skin, cooked pork skin, and shredded pork skin, stored in cold storage at two warehouses. The total estimated value of the goods is over 400 million VND.

At the time of inspection, the business owners were unable to present documents proving the origin and source of the goods.

Market Management Team No. 9 has issued a decision to temporarily seize all the goods for further verification and processing in accordance with the law.
