While exploring the deep waters of the Galapagos Islands, researchers from the Charles Darwin Foundation discovered a new species of octopus at a depth of 1,773 meters on the seabed. The creature is ocean-blue in color and smaller than a golf ball.

After capturing the octopus, the research team took it to Chicago, USA, for thorough analysis.
According to scientists , the newly discovered small blue octopus is a new species belonging to the genus "Microeledon," family "Megaleledonidae." Members of this family are endemic to the Southern Ocean, existing around Antarctica, and are characterized by their large size.
Encountering an unusual octopus is not uncommon, and it always provides an opportunity to expand scientific knowledge about biodiversity.
