Promoting the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front so that people can be masters in the new period

On June 25, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Steering Committee of the National Science Task Force "Promoting the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations for people to be masters in the new development period of the country" organized a field survey seminar in Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending and chairing the discussion were Dr. Nguyen Huu Dung, member of the Presidium, former Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung emphasized that building socialist democracy and perfecting the socialist rule-of-law state requires the efforts and responsibility of each member of the political system, in which the proactive and creative contributions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations play an important role.

In recent times, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations have made many innovations in content and methods of operation, with higher proactiveness and more focus on the grassroots level; the organizational structure has been gradually rearranged to better suit the new requirements of the country; many key tasks have been more clearly defined in each term to reflect the voice of the people in major events of the country...

Dr. Nguyen Huu Dung said that the above national scientific task will be carried out from 2023 to 2026. The research results will contribute to explaining theoretical issues on the role of the people, promoting the role of the people as well as the viewpoints of Party leadership, State management, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations as the core for people to be masters in the process of promoting industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration today.

At the Conference, delegates discussed and shared opinions on the results of the implementation of the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations for people to be masters in Ho Chi Minh City; lessons learned; solutions to promote innovation in methods and content of gathering, propagating and mobilizing people; improving the effectiveness of the role of supervision and social criticism of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and people in Party and government building.

In the current context, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations play an important fundamental and bridging role in maximizing the people's mastery to serve the country's development process. The Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations need to continue to promote propaganda, raise awareness of citizens' rights and obligations, and create favorable conditions for people to participate in contributing opinions to the process of building and perfecting laws, mechanisms and policies. At the same time, units strengthen the role of social supervision and criticism, contributing to the successful implementation of the city's and the country's socio-economic goals.

At the discussion, Mr. Le Nguyen Hong Quang, Standing Member, Head of the Democracy and Law Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, said that in recent times, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the city have actively played a core role in promoting the people's mastery, contributing to creating social consensus, participating in building and supervising the activities of the Party and the government. In particular, the Front at all levels maintains the task of grasping and reflecting the opinions, recommendations and suggestions of the people to the Party Committee and the government to improve management efficiency and better serve the people.

At the same time, continue to promote the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, raise awareness and responsibility of citizens according to the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit". The City Front has also coordinated with member organizations to innovate the content and methods of operation; grasp the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people, contributing to building the Party and government, especially in places where there are no longer People's Councils at the district and ward levels. Thereby, promoting the role of the people as the subject in economic development, social security, maintaining security and order, and building public works.
